Playing Dearly Beloved in a hotel lobby because I'm on vacation

Title says it all!
I love opportunities like these, and I pretty much jump at any public piano that I see (if I'm allowed to play it!)
I also have a tendency of playing the same pieces on those - Dearly Beloved, Eternity, Time - but that's because their familiarity works wonders with my stage fright. Knowing that I can improvise out of whatever mistake I might make is so, so comforting
I'm trying to use my free time to finish some more sheet music of old recordings, and then hopefully work on another big medley!

SO true, even my small country has a small parish that every year orders people to put a vertical acoustic piano on the street or sometimes the garden nearby my house (not gonna lie but I go there everytime it happens XD, small public training).

Totally agree. My school has a really good piano that was restored by an association for free. They give pianos to hospitals, schools, and families. My parents don't have enough money to pay for an acoustic piano, so I might have the opportunity to get one

Beautiful! The first time I heard Dearly Beloved live was when I was having a stressful time at a new job in a new city. Some random person started playing it on the Hotel piano and I teared up in the middle of my shift. This song always gets me

So beautiful! Those other tourists are very fortunate. I’m surprised the piano wasn’t locked. Most hotels I’ve been to that have had a grand piano don’t want tourists touching them. Lucky find!

this description is so accurate of how I feel too when I see a public piano, sadly they are broken most of the time, and also my friends hate me for jumping on every piano I see lol I always play dearly beloved too, a simple piece that works really well on non-musicians and we can't really mess it up ^^ and sometimes anime ost like a tender feeling or my hero academia and naruto stuff :) Have great vacations !

The hardest thing is having someone there to record when it happens! Or getting a good recording at all, I still have an impromptu duet I played with a random person at a cafe that I didn't release because someone decided to start discussing satanism in the background and it's in the recording :')

@@cheshireshadow518 It was not my intention to be creepy. It was more of a compliment to her. I discovered her youtube channel 2 months ago and have loved all of her piano covers. I've also had a major crush on her because yeah women who plays piano (particularly someone who plays as good as her) are so attractive! And ofc I'm not forcing her to do anything she don't want to. It was merely a suggestion. If she don't want to show her face, it's totally fine. I will still watch her videos and be a fan just like everyone else here who have discovered this amazing pianist.

People are fucking weird. Wanting to see somebody perform live is indeed super-creepy. Look at all the fucking creeps going to concerts and orchestras. What if Caliko was a guy? Would wanting to see him live would be creepy then? People just need to chill the fuck out.
