If you think you ruined your putt. You ruined your putt. If you think you can fix your putt, you'll fix your putt. Confidence is the utmost important factor in putting.

Yeah. I had a bad event that “ruined” my putting. I’m in my head so much there’s times I almost forget how I grip this disc. Feel like I’m making progress again this week just worrying about fun again, as cliche as that sounds

I started playing in maybe 2008 and a Champion Ape was my first driver. If only I knew lmao I didn’t play a whole lot for almost a decade after maybe 2013, but this past year disc golf has been huge for me. Plastic is a lot of fun. I think YT content (like this) has helped so much with growing the sport and engaging the base.

I started playing at Plamann Park in the late 90’s and into the 00’s. I stopped playing from 2009-2015, then took another break from 2016-2024. My bag is a wild combination of discs from every era now. It’s been interesting to see how much the plastics have changed now that I’m getting back into the sport.

I agree! started in 2006 and stopped in 2012. Just picked it up again and I cannot believe how amazing the newer molds fly. We never had under stable discs in the day and for the most part, I used 2 discs for a round. Now I have a full bag and I love every disc. They all fly so much different. Really blown away at the wild honey for distance.

@@jbholland2921same with me, time wise. I really had no clue what I was throwing back then. And I threw a bunch of overhand stuff too, since I was just used to ball sports. Reconnecting with the game has been awesome

I started playing back in 1996 here in Sacramento, CA. My first 2 discs were an Innova DX Scorpion (which I still have) and an Innova DX Aviar which I gave back to my friend once I bought my own KC Pro Aviar a few years later. I am looking forward to playing more rounds in 2025 and playing more courses in my area that have popped up since I started playing. I do need to really get into a lot of the newer molds from the past 20 years, it's really cool to see how discs have evolved to where they are now. Keep up the great content

Started in the ‘80s with Frisbees. College courses were trees and utility poles. Got golf discs in ‘90s. Still have Aviar, Omega, Gazelle, B-17 (190 grams), Bearcat, Cyclone, DGA 3, X-clones, Omega, Shark, Stingray. Gazelle self destructed a couple of years ago.

1st time I played was 1996. Only a few rounds and quit because I couldn't get the discs to fly. Played again in 2010. Only a few rounds and quit again. Same reason. 2020 (covid) I started playing again and have continued to play about twice a month since. Now I can actually bend and flex shots on purpose. And thanks to KZbin channels like this, Jomez, Uli, Ezra, etc I have learned so much to better my game. Prime Burst Bounty is my favorite disc right now. Thanks!

Disc golf through the 2000s was a super exciting time. There was a bit of a speed war going on and every year there was a new, higher speed driver dropping. The Wraith is still my fave but the surge ss was my first bomber. I think the Destroyer kinda ended the speed wars and is still the landmark disc for the high-speed, good glide, big low-speed fade disc slot. Thanks, I love these. It's been too long since I've played an 80's only or 90's only round.

Oh and I have ‘Crossfire’ still from Quest. The Crossfire’s a pretty stiff beaded putter. Speaking of putter beads though…I’m kinda in the same boat. I’ve picked up a bunch of Clash Discs lately (my new favorite company). I picked up a Hardy Fudge cos Gannon says he likes beaded putters. But I’ve been wanting to try the Candy.

That first putt with the 90's bag was perfect, you're just aimed wrong. Pause it right after release, your arm is it's natural angle and position, but your hand is pointed to the right. I think you've taught yourself to cut off your natural follow through because your body is lined up to the right. When you try and put power on a putt (ie, complete your follow through) you "yank" it (throw where your body is lined up).
@teenor18232 ай бұрын
We had a local Discraft pro when I started playing that had the white proto nukes that they only gave out to team members and he let everyone throw them. I believe the nuke was the 2.5 cm rim answer for the Boss that came out the year prior. I remember them being fast but not as reliably stable as the Boss. He hooked me up with my first Zone around 2008-2009 too and boy was that a game changer.

Best decade? I started playing in 2001. I want to say that so many amazing molds came out from 2001-2010. Most of those molds represent the majority of discs being thrown today. Just little tweaks and plastic variations. Having said that, I am partial to the 2010-2020 era. Just seems like making great molds even better with other companies adding their own tweaks and plastic blends. There is a bunch of experimentation happening in this era, some good, some bad, but it will shape something awesome for the future of disc golf.

The first round i played was back in like 2007. I played for like a year but all I threw was a dx wraith and I wanna say a magnet to put and that was it! Then I didn't play for like 10 years played a few round with a buddy and threw a champ mamba and an old aviar. Then I picked it up back up right before covid and have started taking it more seriously now playing tournaments and stuff. Still just a weekend warrior though! I think I started playing around 2010, some of my family plays so I got a starter set pretty young (Leopard-Shark-Aviom). Only recently started working on my form and distance to throw better, rather than just trying things as I play 2-3 rounds a month and seeing if I throw any further over time.
