Appreciate that your tips are actually easy and not “just change everything about how you do x”. I think the one about throwing OS to go right is going to be useful on one of my local holes.

Tip 9 was clutch. I throw those stable lines with the forehand but never consider doing that for backhand. Also you convinced me I'm finally getting a passion. 🤣 Great material mn

I always have my bag organized by speed and stability. Helps me disc up and down in both speed and stability really well when I need to without a ton of thought. Also definitely helps do a disc check at the end of a round to make sure I didn't leave anything

Do exactly the same. If you use the same discs regularly you will know right away which disc is missing if they are sorted by speed/stability

I organize my bag buy color and color gradient, I tend to know how my discs fly and am good at remembering the stability of each one, and sorting by color and gradiating them helps me make sure I don't leave a disc and easy to know which disc I could be missing!

Organize my bag with putters in the putter pocket, and then starting in the center: from center to right with plates on the right are US discs going from slow to fast. From center to left with plates on the left, S to OS discs slow to fast. Makes it more natural to reach for the OS/S/US disc of choice.

I made sure when I upgraded bags from the Trooper that I got one whose zippers went all the way to the side leaving no little “corners” for discs to hide, I can see all my discs. As far as organizing, I keep them in order of speed (low to high, flight plates facing left) but don’t organize the same speed discs into any particular order (eg stability). As long as my 5s are next to 5s, 7s next to 7s, etc. then I’m happy.

I used to organize my bag disc by disc, but since I decided to full send pink discs after getting tired of losing them in the wooded courses I frequent, I have acquired too many pink drivers to tell them apart easily 😂 If anything, having to look through my bad before a shot a bit helps me slow my game down. But good advice!!
@dblevins3432 ай бұрын
Lol, I too mainly buy pink. But I'll also purchase orange too. Occasionally I'll pick up a good neon yellow. The exceptions to this rule are back ups and older discs that I've had for years. My Proxy is a neon yellow/green with a pink rim. But I've been throwing it for so long I kind of can't replace it. It's backup is a pink proxy though.

I have my bag organized by all the flight numbers. I'm super organized with it. If I have a disc that has the same speed and glide, I have to look at turn and then glide. It's just a super quirk that I have.

I’m super specific with how I organize my bag and I also hate putting similar colors next to each other. Putters then mid ranges then fairways then DDs. Those sections are organized by stability.

My tip which probably doesn’t apply to most… I throw predominantly LHBH where all my friends throw RHBH. I used to find myself trying to throw the same line instead of looking for a line that suits my game. Avoiding that made a huge difference in my game.

I keep it sorted by speed but not stability. But I definitely can glance at my bag and know what's missing. Then I play the wholes backwards to figure out when I last threw it and where it landed
@jacobfisher76252 ай бұрын
So my bag has been organized since I started playing over 14 years ago by speed and one section by brand because they fly different than the speed suggests. As long as my kids dont mix up the order I can tell you exactly which disk is which by number in the bag.

I just played a tournament last weekend and in the heat the sweat altered my grip so i had a lot of griplock on all kind of shots but forehands. my whalesac didn't help at all, chalk was a little bit better but i didn't find a way to correct that in a satisfying way...

I have always kept my bag super organized, mids left to right understable to overstable, then fairways then drivers that way if i'm not sure which disc to use for that shot its usually within a 2 disc range
@dblevins3432 ай бұрын
The bit about how you organize your bag is probably only helpful for people rotating through discs as often as you do. I know my bag is set up for specific shots. I don't have overlap (usually). If I need a shot shape, I know which disc I'm grabbing. If I rotate in a new disc, the old disc remains and the two battle it out for a while (for instance, if I need a straight fairway with a good amount of finish, I usually grab my Cookie. But if the Teebird is also in the bag, I'll throw both in casual rounds until I decide which one I prefer).
@ToddsDiscGolf2 ай бұрын
Who’s winning? I have a Teebird but I’ve been really tempted to get some Clash discs lately.
@dblevins3432 ай бұрын
@ToddsDiscGolf Funny enough, it's not a match-up I have tried. I just used it as an example. I do bag the Cookie and it feels great. I personally try and bag as many different manufacturers as I can which is why I picked up the Cookie instead of a Teebird at the time. Back then, I had other Innova in the bag. Now I have nothing Innova in the bag though so it may be time to bring a challenger in haha. I only let myself have 2 slots in a battle at a time though. Currently I have a battle for my overstabe Mid going on. Kastaplast Nord (K1) Dynamic Verdit (Fluid) Latitude Anchor Innova Roc3 (Halo) MVP Pyro (Plasma) All 5 are being used for field work at the moment. The two battling on the course currently are the Verdict and Nord though. The other slot battling it out right now is my flippy (but not too flippy) fairway. I currently use the Mint Jackalope. But it's challengers are... Mint Jackalop Clash Soda (Steady) Doomsday Blackout Prodigy F5 (Reblend) Axium Rythm (Fission)

I can’t play in over 95° weather cause no chalk, powder or liquid, can block the sweat pores in that heat. The chalk just clumps up into this weird goop and I can’t get a confident grip on the disc.

I don’t understand how jumping up becoming unstable and mostly off balance and then throwing is in any way better than having your feet planted and throwing an upshot. it’s completely inconsistent. there’s a reason you don’t jump up off the tee.
@ColbyJonesDG2 ай бұрын
If the hole is short enough I'd 100% jump putt. Putting is a way more consistent "throw" compared to a backhand or forehand
@martyjenkins36312 ай бұрын
Well, I can agree with the idea that squaring up to the target improves the line of the throw, but only as far as I can throw underhand. If I have to cock my elbow and spin the disc away, then I'd rather do a powered-down regular throw and trust the "feeling" for angle and distance.
@curtisridenour2 ай бұрын
The only time not to jump putt within 100ft is in the wind. Keep the disc under the wind. Flat stable low shot if possible. With a zone or a tempo. Floaty jump putts become 3 putts really fast in the wind.
@tdkempton2 ай бұрын
If that’s the case, then I suggest you practicing your jump putt. A jump putt can go in, an upshot should never go in if you’re throwing correctly.
