So everyone is saying how this is super funny, and it totally is, but I wanna get excited and nerdy for a second - Like these guys are genius, so while it stands alone as a good meme, there is so much more going on here. It reminds me of my old band director telling us "If you can't sing it, you can't play it." This is SO coo to see out of a group like Polyphia. What a good exercise to get your band to do. Vocalizing the parts forces you to think differently about how it feels and the phrasing of each section. Clay laughing the whole time brings a good vibe and helps them not take themselves too seriously. For a style so technical and expressive, it feels like such a refreshing contrast to see them without their instruments, out of their normal element, but still thinking about their role and part in the song. Even as a band that doesn't have a vocalist, they still somehow have the wisdom to see the value in exercises like this. I just can't fanboy hard enough rn. I'm so glad our generation has Polyphia.

I would love to see them do this with ABC and Sophia Blakk, I want to see her try and keep up with a backing track like that.

playing the song in sync with this video makes this more mind blowing seeing how perfectly they get a lot of it, especially the drums.

I remember when Tim was the, "man I don't fucking know, I play every song super drunk and don't care if I get the notes," to this best version of Tim who takes even mouth singing his parts very seriously and I could not be happier. I love seeing someone great being seriously great.

I mean, your old stuff was alright, but this is where the real art is. If you keep this up, you might one day be able to play "Chicken in the Corn".

This is how I imagine all of their songs are written, they do this then pickup their instruments and play it perfectly, then move on to the next song.
