Plats are hard to represent in 1 match. I think because of the range of skill. You can play a match where they can't play offense and/or defense but you also get people who can air dribble but yeah basically plats are just inconsistent diamonds

I'm glad you ran into a smurf in champ. I've been stuck in champ for a while now and I keep running into GC lobbies and people that are doing ceiling shot flip resets and consistent double touches and it feels like they're smurfing. So I think this video accurately represents what I've been experiencing and it's honestly put me off of the game. Every lobby is sweaty af even in casual.

Doesn’t really matter how many games you play on a smurf, you’re still smurfing. It’s kind of like the idiots hoarding toilet paper; “it’s only me, I’m just doing it once” well, you’re still part of the problem. It doesn’t get better. Champ 3; 3v3, console players are the only ones on diagonal kickoff and still fake the kickoff. Never know why but console players always seem to have weird strats cuz it’s not an isolated incident.

"I didn't know D1's could double-touch like that" - Diamond 1 was one of the most unpredictable ranks that I've ever been in. Some days you would get matched up with people that just squeezed out of P3 by the skin of their teeth, playing incredibly slow, not rotating, thinking they're freestyle gods, taking the ball to the wall every time they get possession, spamming what a save!, and voting to forfeit after they freestyle the ball right into the opposition. Then other games, you get the real deal. The players that play fast, get strong hits on ball, rotate, if they play off the wall - it's natural, and not forced, they aren't afraid to trust their team-mate, they pass, and if you're losing, they stay positive and never vote to forfeit. It's these D1's that I've seen it all from. I've seen them hit double-touches, air dribbles (while spinning), ground-to-air dribbles, ceiling shots, and even flip-resets.

In high level GC if you get an instant queue it means you are going up against RLRS/RLCS level players. That's why he said it was bad

@@metapotamus Because of the way the rank system works. It takes the highest person's mmr and bases it off of that. So if the highest ranked person is in the top 100, an instant queue means that you are going against players that are in or just outside of the top 100.

It wasn't but a couple of months ago that I was plat and a solid 4 game losses and I will be P3 again. And the things are pretty true. Plats do seem to think they are amazing, silvers do own goal more, bronzes are slower, diamonds aren't as good as people think, etc etc. Gold and Plat are very toxic. Diamond is bad with that too. Plats do ballchase a lot. and on and on. Plats are weak on defense because they don't back post rotate and just don't have the chops that higher ranks have yet. Hell same with Diamond 1s I can't speak for Champ and certainly not for pro....but was all of Sunless' comments that bad? Or can we all recognize that ranks have weaknesses. Not to mention, his voice pretty clearly demonstrates he is having fun in a game that should be fun

But he didn't put PASSION into the aerial. When I started aerials in silver I went up with absolute confidence- and 90% of the time I accidentally backflipped and used all my boost. He just jumped and then fell again. nah. failure isn't failure if you don't do it in a blaze of glory

The reason his mate told him the insta queue pop at the end was bad is because that is usually a sign that the game found an enemy with an even MMR (Matchmaking works by gradually increasing the acceptancy for more differentiated ranks over time until a match is found)
