Playing Master System Arcade Ports. Bubble Bobble, Outrun and R-Type

In the UK the Master System was touted as the arcade in your home - so how good was it? I picked three of my favourite arcade games and played through them on the Master System (WARNING: terrible game playing may be involved!)
So how were they - did they capture the magic of the originals, or where they a disaster? Come and find out how I got on with these absolute 80's arcade bangers!!

Absolutely loved that andi buddy 😊 3 great games, 2 I grew up with and bubble bobble I found later but still love it 😄👊 I told you to get a master system didnt 1 😂 its great your having a blast with it bud. You defo got to get wonderboy and wonderboy in monsterland. There's a 4th aswel called wonderboy in monster world but you might be better off playing that on the megadrive bud but its still good on the sms just abit more pricey

Perfect picks - almost a holy trinity...! Top Bubble Bobble tips though - first, once you trap a baddie, if you quickly turn your back on its bubble, it will pop on the spines of your back. Secondly, you pretty much want to be constantly bubbling away. Apart from the increased likelihood of capturing an enemy (especially when you get the sweeties which do such thing as increase frequency and distance of bubbles), each one gains you ten points upon popping. At the end of the level, you can use this by popping bubbles against the wall rapidly to gain points. This influences the kind of goodies that will appear in the next level. Cleverer people than I have analysed exactly what this means in terms of items, but popping away is a good general tactic. "GOOD LUCK!"

Thanks - love all of them! Great tips on Bubble Bobble (I did not know that!) - that's an excuse to go back and revisit if ever I heard!!
