Playing Minecraft PS3 Edition in 2023

I played Minecraft Playstation 3 edition in 2023, here's how it went
I made a survival world on the very first title update for ps3 Minecraft to make it extra nostalgic for the golden age of the game on console. It is great to see the old world generation and the peaceful atmosphere the earlier updates of Minecraft had to them. I show off some removed features and differences in this version and tour around my world which has a couple of builds in it. Comment down below your memories of the old versions of Minecraft I'd love to hear about your own experiences and old worlds you played on. I'll try to make a video playing Minecraft PS3 edition online multiplayer in 2023 and see how it holds up. There are also the minigames that were exclusive to legacy edition Minecraft and it would be amazing to see people still playing it to this day. Weirdly, the old versions of Minecraft seem way more chill and calming, the newer versions seem a bit overwhelming to me, but that must be because I have so much nostalgia associated with with the older console versions! I love your videos, keep it up!

yeahh, I think its because the newer game is more alive an more complete, the old versions were very empty, it could be a bit boring but really relaxing (I like both, old and new minecraft)

This is the first console edition I touched, when it came out at around Christmas. Still remember booting it up during the Christmas holidays to play with my classmates. We spent all Christmas holidays playing it and even ended up getting mad at each other for some reason, which made us not talk for the end of the holidays till we started back up in school where we couldn’t be mad at each other anymore haha. That was over 5 years ago, and I still remember everything so clearly. I can picture everything in my mind, right in front of me.

The screen tearing might be the ps3 itself. I never seen screen tearing on a ps3 before.

@@imnotshub The ps3 never had this issue. If it did, I wouldn't have played it back then, it looks jarring as hell. This was from the software he used to record the video with.

@@ZazzelTheGamer incorrect. Minecraft on PS3 played at 1080 with an uncapped frame rate. That’s what is causing the screen to tear. Even loaded up Minecraft on the PS3 to double check and the screen tearing is noticeable. The 360 version didn’t have this issue as it played at 30 but at a lower resolution.

@@ZazzelTheGamer That’s why in the last update Mojang did for the PS3 version of Minecraft the patch notes said “Updated games refresh rate to better compensate for higher Hz tvs to reduce screen tearing”. Which ultimately didn’t fix it entirely but it definitely reduced it. Hell, even the devs in Discord confirmed it was an issue with the PS3 version. Just cause you didn’t experience it or most likely didn’t notice it doesn’t automatically mean “oH yOuR Ps3 MuSt bE fAuLtY.”

I have a lot of memories on both Xbox and PS3 I would play a lot of minecraft with me and my sister especially on the ps3 always on the tutorial worlds n stuff it was really fun and this just brought back memories where we would play a lot of survival together so much nostalgia

I grew up with this edition. It brings so much nostalgia now, I still have the PS3 and sometimes still play it for the good old times... It was so relaxing, just going around in a limited world and having those textures that now look so old and weird... I remember, it was here that I found my first diamonds, that I raided my first mansion. I remember the old crafting menu, and the inspect button that could tell you what an item did... I remember the horrible netherrack, and the piss-yellow wheat... It was beautiful.

My very first experience with console edition was with a redbox rental of the game! I remember how excited I was to finally see the mobs like the enderman that always appeared in those Minecraft tutorial books but weren’t in pocket edition.

Legacy console edition of Minecraft still is my favorite and best version to play for vanilla Minecraft. It still has the best world generation in any version, with smaller worlds means they're more personal to the player and a person can actually explore the entire world. Creativity flourishes with limitations

There are small things in legacy edition that I miss , coordinates on the map , the ui feels way more intuitive than the modern bedrock one , but the lack of items back then probably is why its simpler , the tutorial worlds were always interesting, for some reason the last few updates of legacy edition had some of the best world generation settings , bedrock and java dont really have settings to an equivalent without mods or plugins

Yeah I remember the legacy creative menu like the back of my hand, meanwhile I always have to search for everything on bedrock despite playing it for like 3 or 4 years at this point

Something no one talks about is how slow it is to move your cursor in your inventory on bedrock it's so much faster on both java and legacy

2015, my brother moved out to go to college, he gave me his ps3, and his minecraft disc, I’d play every Saturday, my favorite memory was looking for the disc’s and playing the tutorial over and over again, so many memories, thanks ps3 minecraft.

i still have my old ps3 version as well, how the times have changed, it makes everything feel so surreal in a way, i remember still prioritizing pocket edition over playing on ps3, I dunno why it was just appealing the thought you can have it on your phone, now I'm on Java edition and I don't regret it either as I made a lot of memories along the way, but in a way, its a kick in the face when you realize how fast time is flying by us, and sometimes some of us may still hold regrets from those times.

I remember old Minecraft on the ps3. I used to have a world where my dad and I played on and my dad had a huge dog army. I have a huge house made out of planks. My Ps3 overheated in early 2018 and I lost all of my data alongside my 80 dollar console. I got a new one a few weeks later and after that and it doesn’t feel the same. I wish I could of done something to prevent my old console from overheating. Thank you for making this video in order to restart my interest in console edition.

WOW! my sister told me about minecraft in 2014 and thats the year I got the disc for my ps3. So nostalgic, I didn't even know how to craft or anything. I recently found my ps3 and got back on it said last played 6/4/14 I get on and find all my old worlds, I feed dogs that haven’t been fed in over 8 years it was truly heart warming and filled of nostalgia it was a unexplainable experience I was just high off nostalgia it was amazing definitely will get back on and beat the game soon
