I definitely recommend Disco Elysium if you haven't played it yet. Its got a gorgeous style, wonderful characters and fascinating worldbuilding, but it's honestly a game you have to experience for yourself to understand.

Best thing to come from Minecraft Story Mode is for sure the Wither Storm, such a badass concept and design, just imagine this thing moving across your world, leaving a trail of absolute destruction so devastating that only bedrock is left in its wake. And with a intense theme to boot!

The reason your controller was freaking out was because you likely had Steam open. Steam has it's own controller support that tends to mess with games just like that, that happens to me as well. Going into task manager and closing Steam should work.
