These videos are wonderful. Not only are you very articulate, you have a real knack for presenting information at an easily digestible pace. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these. I wish you nothing but success on this channel.

Your careful description in each of your sections is extremely well designed. If it moves a bit too fast for me, I simply stop and review the section until I fully understand your points.

Thanks! I try to pause with each control input to describe what and why I’m doing each step, unless I’ve already covered that function in depth in a previous video, because they really are meant to be viewed as a series. I’m glad the approach seems to be working for you!

I agree with the other comments: Your tutorials are very carefully designed and thought through. The presentation of information on Montage M is very helpful - especially if it’s the first synthesizer you own, as in my case.

i just updated my fantom-ex workstation to the montage m8x, so your videos are most topical. Very good explanations with excellent illustrations. Really useful! Thanks.

These videos are such a great help. Thanks a lot, i’ve already made a youtube folder ‘Keir Darby’ 😅😅

Whose videos are you going to put into the Keir folder? Make another one for mine 😉 Thanks for the comment, I’m glad you’re finding them useful :)

Thank you, this is very useful. I’ve been using Yamaha keyboards for over 25 years and recently upgraded to Montage M series. Previously, I had MODX and I was enjoying Sound Mondo to share performances. For some strange reason, Sound Mondo won’t allow M users to download MODX performances. Do you know any workaround?
@KierDarby3 күн бұрын
I’m afraid the only workaround I can think of is extremely long-winded, complex and expensive. It would involve connecting to SoundMondo with the MODX to grab the performances you want, then saving them to the user bank before exporting them to a library file on a USB drive before moving the USB device to the Montage M and importing the performances… which of course is not really a practical solution, especially as most Montage M users won’t have a MODX lying around for this purpose. It does seem like Montage M hasn’t had the necessary attention from the SoundMondo development team, as it’s not currently possible to sync ESP with it, and Montage M can’t access any classic Montage or MODX performances as you’ve found. There are suggestions over at Ideascale to get this resolved, which could use as many votes as possible to let Yamaha know that there is significant demand for this functionality.
