I really appreciate the tip on flattening out the hand position so the thumb isn’t too high. Like you, I prefer using 2nd, 3rd, and 4th fingers and avoid using the thumb if I can. But it’s good to have an idea how to manipulate the thumb for PDLT if I need to.
