The mid 90s to mid 2000s is when humanity peaked.
@djmonstrosity69715 ай бұрын
2001 BEFORE 9/11
@lePurpleDragon5 ай бұрын
No, peak was mid 00s to early 10s. After the early 10s, political correctness blew up and Gen Z started to come into the scene appropriating everything. Before the mid-late 00s, luddites and conservativism tainted society and only the privileged had the ability to live liberally and freely in private. So maybe middle-upper class suburbanites enjoyed that era, but likely no one else. Late 90s - Early 00s (give or take 1998-2004) was easily the darkest era. Look at when famous people got assaulted. Look at documentary An Open Secret. All these sick things happened and peaked during that dark and twisted era. Everything felt wrong in those days. Because everything WAS wrong. Only the privileged enjoyed that sick era. Also, 90s was garbage compared to 80s and mid-late 00s. I have no idea why people claim they liked it so much. I reviewed extensive archival video from my local school that was taken every year from around 1988 to 2001. You can literally watch society plummet after the late 80s and very early 90s. Kids become shy, uncomfortable, and timid. The sense of individuality and confidence erodes. You know bad things are happening at home. And I guarantee after 2004 if they still took video you could see the rise again briefly.

Ask all people who lived through that era and most of them will tell you that the 80s and the 90s were the best decades. In terms of entertainment and freedom of speech the 90s and early 2000s were the golden era. And it's around 2007/2008 when things started to crumble down until reaching the mess we are in today. So you saying that peak was mid 00s to early 10s is a joke, that period was the beginning of the end.

I remember buying a used PS2 with some games in the summer of 2002 with the money I earned from my summer job. I sat like this in front of GTA3 with my best friend a whole day. In the evening we decided to give the other game a try. Silent Hill 2 it was called. 22 years later we still remember that night with deep fondness. Silent Hill 2 is still one of my all time favorites.

My older brother's Sega Genesis and Sega Saturn were passed down to me in the 90's. Then in 1999, on Christmas, i got my first gaming console of my own with the Sega Dreamcast. The Dreamcast is still my favorite game console. I still have my Dreamcast and PS2 and they're in mint condition still. I don't play them though, they're just sitting in my closet.
