Hi, great video, thanks, but for me difficult to play... I do not get the difference betweeen the "double stroke" with the left hand/fingers, when I play, sound is always same...
@DjembeMaster2 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks. Well, it takes quite a bit of practice to make those tiny differences in sound. Start from the Beginners course 🥰

I bought the courses, you are a great teacher. My main problem is this important video for me. I really want to understand this,I got the movements and the speed down, but I am VERY confused about the timing. I dont understand the time and how I can use this with the metronome. Can you please link me to other videos or one of your video that explains timing and the metronome for this reggae beat. My rhythm is way off. I have no talent (sounds funny) thats why I need extra videos. PLEASE HELP
@DjembeMaster2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for getting courses! The beginners courses are best I have as far as starting from zero and learning slowly (which helps understand timing). Also, here on KZbin, my videos regarding the straight beat. Something simple does it. The reggae beat video is pretty complicated, using fingers and has the bass on the 5th stroke. Maybe putting the KZbin video player on 1/2 speed can help practice slowly.

Hi, Im enrolled to your master classes 1, and drum beats 1 and 2 classes and Im very happy with my gradual progress. I did not hear and seen any reggae beats though in the classes. Do you have a class where it will show flavors of reggae beats? Second, can you gradually ramp the speed up in this video like in your classes so its easy for me to follow? Thanks
@primobeltran79552 жыл бұрын
This beat you are doing is around 120BPM right? Im a beginner

Hey, excellent to hear about progress 👌🏼 The courses don’t have reggae beats, this video you’re commenting on is so far the only reggae lesson. And sure, I can make more different tempos from slow to fast in the future - thanks for the feedback! For now, I think the KZbin player has some speed controls, hope those help a bit 🙂
@DjembeMaster2 жыл бұрын
Didn’t really think of that - you might be right about the approximate tempo. I never really practiced much to an exact tempo, but sometimes practice to a certain click track.

Love ya stuff👍🏻 Ya reckon you could put up a few 4/4 beats you could use on some every day music Thanks Todd

Cheers ☺️ I sure can - you know what, today is filming day and I’m gonna do just that! Some 4/4 beats coming up ☝🏼

Hello I saw you video, thank you for sharing. I’m very interested in your classes! I just bought a djembe but it’s small one it’s 40 cm, do you think I’m able to do the same hand movements in the 40 cm one? Because if I put my hand in the bass area almost cover everything, looks difficult!

Hello Ian. First- you are gorgeous with djemebe , you know that ? 🙂 And second- I want to be like you🙃 so decided to start buying your courses. Now I have question -you use Stripe payment method on your website. Does it accept Visa 3D Secure authentication ? Sometimes I have problems buying abroad with that 3D. And when I buy a course then what? Should I create an account to get acces to it online? Your website is lacking some small FAO for such the internet incompatible persons like me 😛
@DjembeMaster2 жыл бұрын
Hello ☺️ Thank you for kind words! Indeed, Stripe is the method used for payment on the site - since Stripe is one of the biggest providers of such a service, I’d imagine that Visa 3D Secure should work just fine. Definitely give it a go and if something should not work out, write to me at djembemaster@protonmail.ch As for the account - this is created automatically after your purchase and the login info (username and password) are sent to your e-mail. Once you have this info, you can login and change your password, if you wish. I wrote down the idea to add such info to the site, my site developer will get on it ✅ Thanks!

@@DjembeMaster For the attention of future course buyers : payment went smoothly, no problems at all. I've bought Djembe Masterclass for Beginners Volume 2 and my first impression was so good that immediately bought Drum Set Beats with Djembe (although you can call me a master if I go successfully through the Begginners 2 🙃). Very good recording, good sound, clearly listed lessons , excellent kind of exercises in Begginers 2 course, for hands, rhythm and power of stroke (perhaps my djembe at last will stop sounding as a war drum 😃. Good job Ian. Wish me luck !
