Actually i dont think it's strange at all. The card says it clearly. There is no room for mistaking that this interaction would be anything but exactly this.

​@@trompell0I mean the more obvious thought would be nothing happening, like with the leviathans lure and neptulon, those don't do anything with cards in the other side of the board despite having basically the same wording

59:50 Sargeris explained: The Sargeris binds to a specific portal, so if you summon 2, each Sargeris interacts with their own portal. So what happened to you is probably intended. Stealing Sargeris is a bad idea. Stealing and bouncing sargeris would be a good idea, because you get the battlecry.

Yes, it is quite the weird card. In fact, if you double his battlecry and summon 2 portals, his titan effects only impact the first portal summoned despite 2 coming from him. Very weird card indeed.
