As an FYI I just did this to get the last 4 levels from 54 to 60 and with a hardened steel pick, I get almost the same as the stone pick you are using. Not sure if they revamped the ratio but it didn't seem to matter. Also there is a loot bag that alternates between a loot bag and a chest with a key that I think is missed in shallowback hollow behind a rock. It generally has perfected steel weapons. I have farmed it like 8 times as my base is right there. Love the series my friend.

it's like conan developers regret making an online survival game, now they are trying to change it to some sort of RPG single player game!

Yes, but there is a reason for this. The kind of players that RP are not the same kind of players that PVP. While PVP gameplay has high margins, investment requires a lot of upfront capital. Further, PVP players are a vast minority in the community. While the potential profits are large if Funcom pivoted to PVP, they would alienate the PVE community. Most problematic of all is that official servers are incredibly costly and have next to no margin profit involved. The absolute worst investment Funcom could make is pivoting toward official PVP servers. That requires an absurd amount of investment capital for a very high risk unlikely, but large payday. They would have to go all in into PVP, which is great for PVPers but is hot garbage for literally everyone else. Most people aren’t PVPers and barely care about “balance”. Most people simply want their playstyle to be viable and interesting. This is the opposite of balancing the meta required for PVP emphasis. I don’t care whether or not sorcery is “broken” good for PVP, I like to play a sorceror with a valid playstyle that makes me useful in PVE engagements with the friends I play with and can trust to not be dickheads. I am statistically in the majority, and people like me are what are providing most of the funding for the game. I am not saying this to brag or demean, only to explain the real world situation. What would make more sense is the creation of PVP zones in PVE (ie conflictlike) and a drive to make community run servers popular. Ideally, Funcom would market major community servers and rework things to allow for large numbers of clients on those servers. But, that would also be a huge investment, so I wouldn’t hold your breath on that either.

​@@adammyers3453 whats keeping this game alive are modders. Funcom doesnt care anymore about this game, bazaar is all they care about. If it wasnt because of modders, this game woud have died years ago. Im a pvp player, with over 5k hours in this game, vanilla conan is not enough i can be with endgame meta gear, sorc spells in less than a day. Thats why AoC and EEWA adds too much to conan, and also VAM. Funcom should learn from those mods or straight up integrate them into vanilla.

hey zelo, if the hardened steel pick in mounds is too far, one or two steel pickaxes almost always spawn in the chests under the stairs in the sinkhole, not too far from your route so might be useful next time

an alternate method to level up fast, would be crafting khitan legionary statues, start off trying for better tools steel or better if possible from sorcery cave or if the cave doesnt give a sickle, the chest behind the bat in un named city generally has 1 and he is easy to dodge and get past. all you have to be is level 15 to unlock artisan bench and firebowl cauldron, you will need a furnace and a bit of iron for the firebowl, you will need around 500 or a few over statues to get from 15-60, so for 500, if my math is right, you will need 2000 resin, 5000 plant fiber, to make 5000 stone consolident, and 27,000 stone, preferably put out 2-4 firebowls since the consolident is what you will be waiting on. this method requires you to have the right DLC for the khitan legionary statues, if you dont have it you can use the golem heads one. this ones benifit is less running around, dont have to farm any rocknoses, and when your done you can put all the statues on a dismantling bench and get a good portion of your mats back to make bricks for your base, whereas with golem heads you cant break them down and they go to waste. first time trying this method it took me a bit over 2 hours, hadnt done the math and didnt know how many it would take so did it a bit at a time, didnt put out a second or 3rd firebowl till i was around lvl 42, so just plan it out a bit better and get your tools early, and head to an area dense in stone with enough trees and plant fiber around, hit 15 while gathering mats and your good to go, took me 2 hours and 489 statues on official pve server with some extra wait time, 1x harvest rates, so the extra harvest on pvp may knock off a few of those 500, and if you come up short at the end build a dismantling bench and recycle some to make a few more.

this one still works for now, tho i expect at some point they MIGHT get around to getting rid of the exp gain from the statues, altho they at some point should at least nerf the golem heads one as well, if they ever fix the game people will have to find more intentional game related ways to speed level.

Just a tip, if you grab a sycle from the cave, run down to noob river quick and find a few patches of puffball mushrooms and hit them for quick xp. Will get you to 30 pretty fast and then you can make multiple improved firebowl cauldrons to get the stone consolidant faster. Takes me roughly 2 hours from start to 60 doing that.

Yep, mushrooms are good too! Good idea to farm them a bit, so you have less to farm for the golems.

I started on an official server recently and just went for the sickle, purple lotus, mushrooms, black lotus. Did that twice and farmed some golden lotus in Vulcano and some obsidian with the pick from Mounts of Dead. Didn't bother with stuff like black ice because I needed to make spice food for that.

Easy trick for spiced food, raid chests in sepermaru, you can easily get a 20-30 silver coins with minimal effort, then buy spiced food from the merchants in the prison area of sepermaru. You're likely going to go that route anyways on the way to mounds, so you make one quick sweep of Seper and you got a stack of spiced food for minimal effort. :)

I gotta learn your stuff dude. You got all these dungeons nailed and I'm happy to be lvl 30 in a week. All I do is farm insulated wood cause it's easy to make decent megabases out of it XD

Haha you’ll learn them with time. The funnest time in Conan for me was when I was a newbie first learning the game because even the smallest task was a mission. I recommend taking the game slow and enjoying it. :)

​@Zelosykes Thanks dawg! Little update, I decided to sharpen my skills by placing a challenge on myself. I started a new character and ran to shaleback, gathering stone tools along the way. From there, I learned golem, farmed a little to make a small base near my favorite spot, getting myself some essentials like wood and bark. Then I started my Insulated wood farm while making trips to get blood crystals from the rock nose on the plateau near the spider dungeon. I also did some hide farming on the people to shove in my tannery for some tar (med armor is nice too) and found myself with some good stuff. Honestly I think THIS video tripled my conan skills. I've been playing for years but I was more of a trap base guy vs now I'm more into base raiding and niche gear finding.

Thanks for doing this I just subscribed! I just started playing Conan seen it on sale and thought I try it. Currently on a PVP Official. Everything is so foreign and it's been frustrating for me leveling up. Oh and what do you mean cheaters infestation and wipe out? Doesn't the Battle Eye prevent that?

That's awesome! I hope you have a fun epic adventure in the Exiled Lands. The newbie days of figuring out the game are always the most fun. And yeah, unfortunately, the Battle Eye doesn't do enough to prevent cheaters. On officials there's speedhackers that move super fast and can kill you from far away by pulling your hitbox. And that's just the start when it comes to cheating on officials. PvE-C might be a better place to learn the game for a newbie. There's no raiding and your stuff can't be looted, but you're able to fight other players during specific times.

Hackers killed this game 100% and of course funcom and their lack of effort to fix things in game that need desperate fixes. I am a PvP player on Conan still going strong PlayStation has hackers everywhere I can't even imagine how many cheaters lay waste to official PvP servers on PC.. keep going brother love watching your series videos.

Official servers are so bad due to cheaters, but Recently I found myself a private server with the same settings as official its even called "like-official server" , the admin only interfere with the server for glitches, under mesh and cheaters etc, server is always full .. I'm having a blast

PvP server populations have definitely seen better days. The PvP community is slowly dwindling unfortunately. Lots of players quitting the game.

I started up a run last week, spent a few hours leveling and getting gear, first star metal run I made I got hitbox pulled at the sinkhole ob. Uninstalled. Literally the only times I’ve been beaten in the game were by zergs or cheaters. Game had so much potential but Funcom is a joke company. Dune will be no different. Mark my words lol

@@Zelosykes yeah i got the idea from one of your previous videos and started a new game purely to try it, I'm fairly sure like you say with learning from mistakes and given a better rng on the pick you could probably get it down to 2 hours. I got a mask from one of the Setite priest at Sepermeru to use at the shattered springs for brimstone, their religious mask acts as a sand/gas mask the stupid white looking thing but if you can get the kill and rng for one fashion isn't everything.

I had an Encumbrance/Agility build. I also prefer the quickness of the short sword for killing monsters over the mace.

Use a normal pick on a tree will give you resin.

I tried to use a pick but it only gave me bark. I just looked it up though and it’s only the trees in the highlands and tundra that give resin from a pick. The desert trees I hit, don’t unfortunately. Thanks for letting me know.

Yeah, we can no longer hide our bladesmiths/shieldwrights. Also, PvP servers are gonna be even more laggy than they are now due to the new settlements.

The next Age of Heroes is gonna add a new settlement system. It’s a really cool idea for PvE, but for PvP it’s gonna lag the servers even more sadly.

In terms of PvP, it really is. PvP player base is dwindling by the day, hard to find any active server nowadays. Any servers that barely have 15-20 pop are super laggy and killed off by cheaters within days.

I’m on a server with 38 persons online at the moment. It’s been like this the whole week. Some action, but not as much as you would expect on a crowded server. It seems to be the only official EU PvP server that’s more or less at maximum population. I think the whole PvP scene is dying out…
