I've played an original song at every other talent show, so I decided to switch things up for my senior year and perform a cover! I listen to a ton of post hardcore bands like Dance Gavin Dance, Royal Coda, Dwellings, Eidola, and Space Weather, and I wanted to try something in that vein.

I always hated my school’s talent shows. I didn’t matter how talented you were, you won by being one of the popular kids. The audience decided who won. They’d yell for who they wanted to win. Whoever the crowd yelled the loudest over would win and it was always the popular kids. Don’t know why they didn’t just use actual judges.

That's pretty much the case at my school too. The judges this year were all 9th and 10th grade girls, so I lost to one of their friends who sang "In Summer" from the movie Frozen as a joke.
