@rogerwalker2224 it kind of is. A good guitarist will get tripped up when the drummer either drags or rushes. They might miss notes or not adapt to the drummer. A great guitarists WILL adapt and will treat the drummer as their metronome. They will play faster or slower if need be, and will play just fine. They can make the drummers mistakes feel like they're part of the song.

This just randomly popped up on my feed.... and, it kinda rendered me speechless. Waaay back in 1989, my Band was in a Battle of the Bands when Speed/Thrash metal was NOT a Thing. Long story short, the 3 of us (our Lead Guitar/singer had multiple Marshall Microstacks with a Flying V- Damned if our Bass player had the SAME Bass in Black and I still have my Pearl Export Series set) got onstage and began playing Slayers Angel of Death.... then, the guitars power was cut. Then there's me, just banging our that tune when I was grabbed by one of the teachers and (not so nicely) told our "gig " was done. Glad to see you guys got the props you deserved, instead of what we got...stunned silence, followed by sheer panic to make it go away. Good Times.
