A great guitarists WILL adapt and will treat the drummer as their metronome. They will play faster or slower if need be, and will play just fine. They can make the drummers mistakes feel like they're part of the song.

@@springbloom5940I'm in California. Back in the late 80's I was browsing around at a bookstore that sold vinyl's and cassettes, and stumbled on a cassette that had a really cool cover. I was expecting like punk rock or something but it was very thrashy like Kreator and Sodom. It was the album Violent Termination by Devastation. I think I still have the cassette somewhere. I wore the hell out of that tape! Never got to see them live though.

My Harley-Davidson riding neighbor asked my parents if he could give me a Master of Puppets cassette after I first heard One in his garage while he graciously allowed me to bother him while he was working on his bike.
