I never thought I’d own a Telecaster. I never really liked the looks, especially the headstock. About 2 weeks ago something changed and I suddenly got an itch for one. After watching KZbin videos on Teles for the past 2 weeks I finally pulled the trigger and ordered one. Can’t wait to get my hands on it.

The history behind the symbols is that they were meant to be universally understood regardless of language barriers. Let’s be honest, they are pretty easy to understand after fairly minimal effort. Definitely not worth passing up such amazing tone over!

Seriously, God forbid you just have to twiddle around some knobs a little bit. I am visually impaired and this is my journey with every new amp because I can’t read any symbols any amp manufacturers use. Not to mention this day and age it’s easy enough to hop on Google or KZbin where someone else has already deciphered that stuff for you.

I like how every review of Orange amps make a point of saying "if your looking for a clean amp it's probably not the amp for you" yet the clean sounds are pretty much always better sounding to me than those other holy grail clean amps like Fenders. I've had Fenders, Marshalls and Boogies but never had an Orange, and yet when I played an Orange it was the best sounding amp I had ever played but it was too expensive for me at the time. I think I just need to get one and quit dingle fritzing around. Thanks for the videos!

I have the MK3 version of this amp (the one with the built in attenuator). Just a massive kick ass beast - I use a clean boost into the amp and an EQ, that’s it. No need for drive pedals at all. Surprised. With your style of playing it always seemed a match. Orange offers a "rumble" underlying or in front. Only downside is that you cannot get rid of that. The absence of captions next to the symbols on many Orange amps was in fact due to a specific request from many guitarists, in an attempt to prevent other band members from messing around with the settings (i.e. attempting to bring the volume down from "glass shattering" to at least "ear piercing") during gigs or rehearsals. True story!

I had the Rockerverb 50 in the 2X12 combo in the early 2000's. Much heavier than the head alone. It looked lonely so I bought the oversized Orange 2X12 cab as well. Looked great at home in the study (4X12 in total) but I dreaded the thought of ever having to take it anywhere due to the weight. I recall really liking both the clean and dirty channels. Eventually I traded the rig for something different. Years later (about a year ago) I was looking at small compact amps and found the Orange Rocker 15. Only volume on the clean channel but 3 band EQ on the drive side. No Reverb but these days I use pedalboards to sculpt my sound and the amp has an effects loop. It's very portable for little garage jams with friends. Combined with a couple of other portable amps that I have it really works well in Wet/Dry or Wet/Dry/Wet amp setups. I had missed the old Rockerverb 50 so this has satisfied my Orange craving and saved my aging back.

I'm Old (as in being on this great planet for almost 3/4 of a century) and my music style and what I play has zero use for distortion and I am fully aware that is totally against what all the young whippersnappers love as far as reviews. I am sorry to say this amp is still not for me, mainly because everything in this review seems to be about what's great about the distortion, and I'm more into clean and reverb with "Zero" distortion. The one thing I like stage wise is people look directly at your amp it’s intriguing to those who haven’t seen one and I’ve had other bands at festivals and bike rallies walk up and wanna play the amps. I’m a blues, and hard rock guy. These amps just shine. Mix one of these with a fender amp in stereo set up and it will blow your mind.

So I am a ‘bone collector’. I sold some of my human skulls to buy the rockerverb mk3 and Orange cab. I was on the fence on selling irreplaceable pieces of my collection to get this gear. Long story short, I’m not disappointed. This orange set that I have is amazing and versatile. Buy it. You won’t regret your purchase.

Yup. that's why I don't like the Orange sound...it's like they filtered out everything below about 300Hz and pushed the heck out of the high mids. It can sound ok if you play it for a while...as long as you don't play it next to another amp.

In terms of Orange amp hi gain tones, try the amp gain around 12 o clock, and boost with a klon-style OD. The harmonics leap off the fretboard

Yes!!! While I don't have a big Orange amp (I will eventually), I got myself the Terror Stamp and absolutely love it! I use an EHX Soul Food in front with the drive around noon to 1o'clock so that I can roll off the volume pot on the guitar for clean tones, or peg it for amazing breakup. Then by engaging the Soul Food, just WOW. I'm pushing a Bassbreaker 2x12 cab.... Perfect for everything! Has an effects loop too. Such a dynamic sound! The amount of gain on tap is simply fantastic and the simplicity of the controls really inspires me to just play! Love Orange amps!!

@@elihue_redneckreview I have had my Stamp for little over a year now running into a 30watt 1X12. Sits Right in the middle top of my pedal board with 11 other pedals. Great sound from clean to massive dirty grind. Tip for those that complain about the clean headroom (yes it is an issue). Put a clean boost at the end of your effects loop chain to get the added volume push into the power amp (i use an RC Booster type pedal). Set amp gain around 9-9:30 and you pretty much have a clean pedal platform with all the volume of the high gain setting. RC Boost also gives an extra level of EQ and gain.

I'm a bassist. I've been using the Orange Bass Terror for years. It's been beaten to hell over the years during gigs and has never let me down. That was enough to win me over. It sounds fantastic and could probably knock down a mountain if at need it to. I have the OR 15 for recording guitars. I get awesome cleans, throw a Klon clone in front and you have a perfect blues amp. Also have the Micro Terror for jamming. Can't go wrong.

Bass clef, treble clef, spring verb and speaker for volume.. Not really much to expect a musician to figure out. LOVE my or100, but man is it a beast to carry. Thanks for the vid! Even their solid state has balz. They still build them as a Class A/B circuit. In short the difference is it is a tube circuit with the tubes changed out with JFET transistors. Other makers all use a modern Type C amp that is totally gutless.

I have an OR15 and the cleans are very surprising. I run the EQ half way, and touch the gain until it just starts going into more saturation, which is around 1o'clock . After that, I use an EHX Soul Food as a boost (distortion around 1/4 up, tone slightly after half way, and the volume at 3/4). Since it's a single channel amp, you just use the volume control on the guitar to go from a nice clean, up to a decent rock tone. Tap on the boost, and you have metal.

I'd be seriously worried by a professional musician who doesn't recognise bass and treble cleff symbols.... I was actually able to afford my first decent amp last year and bought an Orange Crush 20RT - gods, is it loud or what? It cuts through 50W amps like they're not there - and that's on the clean channel. Speaking of which - I use it for that lovely warm clean sound that's almost perfect for jazz and a bit of blues... and if I want to dirty it up, I use a multiFX to bring that in! PS - the best clean tone I've ever heard was a late 70s 30W orange combo - being fed from my cheap asian strat; the guy in the pro shop cried as he handed my strat back to me (I'd taken it in to see if they could set it up better than I had - and they couldn't) - after he'd sat there noodling with his eyes shut for about 20 minutes; I thik he enjoyd the experience more than I did!

For me, Orange has always been the first choice if there has been a tech or roadie to carry it for me. Otherwise it tends to stay at home. The clean channel that isn't all that clean is absolutely wonderful for John Lee Hooker style blues! I just add a bit of delay and reverb and that's it.
