Your tones on this “BEAST” are second to none, AMAZING, Darrell!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The guitar itself from the front side, to me looks like a Gibson Firebird and a Ibanez Iceman combined. Very Cool! Decent price too…👍👍

You may want to try a Hagstrom Fantomen. It has a very similar shape, and around half the price. The Fantomen even has push/pull tone pots for coil splitting. My son has one, and loves it.

Great review ..!! I've been curious about Baum for a long time and didn't know they had a mid-price range available .. That thing sounds killer and looks amazing .. I think I'll add it to the ol' Christmas list .. Also, thanks for reviewing something that isn't a Gibson or Fender like 99 percent of people seem to do .. Nothing against either company or other reviewers .. I own several of each, but I kinda know enough about them I don't necessarily to have more of them reviewed ;)

Sounds like a neat guitar. Perfect rocker but also having nice, neat n' clean jazzy tones. Though not overly enthused about the headstock, I want it. Excellent demo as always... Thanks again Darrell!

Thanks for introducing this guitar Darrell. Always interesting to hear about new gear. I would like to know more about the neck profile, fret workmanship, weight & balance.
@markpell897911 ай бұрын
@nmcg2587, considering the size of the body and that it's probably alder or poplar, I'd bet this weighs about 8-9 lbs or 3.6-4kg. The frets look to be precut and prefinished with rounded ends, which if done well is a great way to reduce production costs on a price-point guitar. They obviously did not give Darrell any cause for complaint in the demo and sounded smooth as glass on bends. Incidentally, also looks like a Fender scale length but with a flatter fretboard.

The finish on that guitar looks excellent, and it sounds great. I like that it has a 25.5" scale length, although I do prefer only a single volume and tone control. And they could have given the knobs a little more thought, perhaps.

One nice looking and sounding guitar there. Only question is why the roller bridge and then fender type string retainers? come on now...get the rollers on the headstock folks. I could so do the Bigsby version. That is what I call a modern classic.

It would seem the brass on the tuners are just cosmetic as the nut and frets are doing their thing before anything gets to the tuners. The brass roller saddles seem like a wise choice. The pickups sound pretty sweet😊
@markpell897911 ай бұрын
@halohat2286, it's likely that many decent tuners have brass shafts, just hidden by plating. It's a good material for the purpose. It does look nice to leave the brass exposed. I agree that in itself it probably doesn't do amazing things for tone or sustain and most of that, stringwise anyway, happens between the nut and saddles.

@0475cmoore11 ай бұрын
Personally I think the guitar has a great tone clean and dirty very versatile. I think the roller bridge and the brass are great additions but as far as the looks of the guitar……don’t care for it at all. Looks like the body is huge, but that could be the camera angle. I’m more of a traditionalist when it comes to body shape. I prefer something that is somewhat symmetrical and double cut and this is the furthest thing from that you can find. The minibuckers are 2nd only to P90s as my favorite pickups. I can get a wide array of sounds out of my Shawbuckers on my Tele deluxe. If it had the large body and looked more like a novo serum I’d probably order one tomorrow. Can’t get past that lower bout!
@mortonwilson79511 ай бұрын
Interesting! Another new brand. Checked out the website and will dig deeper, this one has nice touches for sure. Thanks for the nod to clean tones - frankly 'crunch' or OD or whatever might be exciting for some but it's not telling anyone what the guitar actually sounds like, it's telling everyone what the amp or pedal(s) sound like. There are several so called YT 'reviewers' who don't seem to understand that any guitar 'review' thru OD FX is a waste of time and, sadly, just a chance for them to wank off at volume . . . you are not one of them and I do understand that getting some insight on the 'weight' of pick-ups and how they perform at volume is important BUT let's hear how it sounds clean. Honestly, is there anyone out there who walks into a guitar shop, plugs a new guitar thru some sort of fuzz pedal and says 'yup. this is the one!'. I doubt it, somehow (I used to work in a guitar shop in the 70s and have been playing ever since and I never came across any serious musician who required distortion to evaluate a guitar). Yup, old school, but 50 years as a producer and player and as many guitars, so please feel free to laugh 🤣

the guitar body is much thinner meaning it looks flatter and cleaner and has easier access to high frets, if that's what you mean. i don't believe Baum sat down and tried to make it look like a glued neck, it's just ergonomics

Nice guitar, nice appointments and sound... but weird that it goes for that look while being a bolt-on neck. And the price is a too high for an overseas made guitar "set up in Denmark" - the company should take a cue from Yamaha or Cort or even G&L etc, the correct price point for this one should be around 900€/$ max, IMHO. 🤷🏼♂️
