Thanks for visiting Kiwanis! We just fundraised and opened the course last September, and have made some great progress on the course. We're working to install pads (typically every few weeks) and the goal is to have the shorts done this fall, pending some donated materials, funds, and volunteers. We hope to install longs next year, pending funding. P.S. Mosquitoes have been absolutely terrible at several courses in the area so I'm not sure your day will get considerably better at the next course. 😂😂

@@tossingplasticI have been to almost every course in the city in the past 2-3 weeks and I'd actually rate Kiwanis 2nd or 3rd for mosquitoes. Leila has been the worst by far, IMO. Hope you enjoyed your time here! Let me know if you ever want to join a disc marathon - every July a few of us do every course in BC + Coldbrook. This year it was the BC-168. All the holes (longs) in one day. 😂 It's a great day!

Note to players: He is playing LONGS, if you play shorts, every hole is an ace run and much more forgiving and potentially fun for novice/beginners. This course is Beautiful and well maintained, newer pads and easily seeable signage.

Correct! I mentioned all that in the review at the end! I would like to play that layout !
@kevinknack58152 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the course! It was helpful hearing thoughts on a hole-by-hole basis! Kiwanis is still a very new course - less than a year in the ground. We figured we were to take some lumps in reviews opening before completion, but figured an extra year of playing was going to be worth it. Felt you were very fair! Short pads going in first because Kiwanis is a youth-centered organization. Developing a true beginner layout that was interesting was one of our core design philosophies. We love the longs too though and are looking forward to upgrading the pads. It's just a next year project - everything moves kinda slow when it's 100% volunteer. Enjoyed the video production! The flight lines in particular were a pleasant graphic augment!

@@SausageFPS We raised funds for the course as this is private property - the Prodigy baskets were the most affordable and have been great during the first 10-11 months the course has been open. That said, we'd love to hear your ideas and would certainly enlist your help if you're able to assist with funding to replace all 18 baskets!

I've only left a course mid round once. And that was because someone I was playing with had a full blown meltdown after griplocking a disc straight into a tree 5 feet from the teepad. I played a round this fathers day at the local course when I slipped off the tee pad and shanked my disc into the top of an oak tree. I usually use my berg to knock disc out of trees don't laugh it usually works until you get it stuck in the tree. Next contestant was my halo pig that I got stuck in the tree. My three disc in their day glo glory looking like Christmas ornaments. I finally smartened up and found some sticks but it took some doing still because the sun was right in my eyes. I was afraid I was gonna knock myself out with a stick trying to retrieve my damn frisbees. This ordeal had me using some choice words at loud volumes that I scared the bejeezus out of these poor old people playing a round who had me pegged as a psycho that they wanted nothing to do with. You can't make this 💩up had me cursing the whole way back to the car. Mosquitos are nothing skin so soft is deet free and it works. As always enjoy watching your rounds.😎

@@tossingplasticI will say that before we scraped, dumped gravel, and compacted the unfinished pads, they were a muddy, rooty mess in those woods. Funniest thing I've ever witnessed in disc golf: 3 older guys in their 50s-60s drinking beer and sharing about 4 discs among them, going slow and oblivious but good-natured (and did let us play through once they noticed lol). The funny part was when we saw one of them pop behind a wide tree to take a leak. He noticed someone walking toward where he was standing so he started shuffling sideways around the tree like it was a stealth mission, all while pissing. It was so cartoony and just hilarious looking.
