Damn, I actually really like Artificer though. Lotta murderous potential packed in those wrists. I especially like the lack of escape tools though. I have to actually engage my brain a little while playing as her, a bonus unlisted trait exclusive to her. It's also the reason I hate Ion Surge, because then you just... don't. My only gripe is the limitation on the primary fire, but that in turn further facilitates the need to play better. Just, maybe more charges? Maybe make it so they're immediately recovered on contact or something so there's still a penalty for missing or blindly spamming but a reward for hitting your shots?

I don't wanna hit you with “skill issue,” but we both know how overpowered arti would be if her primary recovered on contact, especially with the ignite buff and ignition tank. Imo, art is in a really good place rn, she just requires a bit of practice. If arial enemies are still to much for the player, that's why they added the chaining effect of her default secondary, and the faster projectile speed of the icicle.

The projectile thing is more a personal inconvenience, only because I do tend to lean into faster-paced gameplay sometimes as well. I like a strong balance between swift and calculated, paradoxical as that might sound. This game doesn't really have that for me. It's either be fast or be smart. I want a li'l of both.

Would honestly have to say captain is shittiest. Garbage m2, garbage R, no mobility without items (Which is the biggest foul) and having to charge every shot is the least satisfying thing I've had to do in ror2. Rex also is annoying to play, but at least has lifesteal and mobility

except he can block tonnes of projectiles with lots of drones, spare drone parts is then the single best item in the game, and he can have the highest proc rates of any character, and proc builds are the best in the game. He can speedrun the teleporter boss with his shift skill, he's better than half the cast and about as good as bandit, m2 is bad but the R can also solo teleporters on some maps with chokes with the stun, hack is cracked as well. the only bad thing about captain is no mobility skill, which does suck but otherwise he'd be a dlc survivor.
