I feel your pain. At almost 60 I don' t move well and my hips and knees feel like crap after playing just once a week. Ibuprofen and yoga are some of my best friends these days. Hang in there!! Peace!

You're still moving well and have great positioning and quickness. Maybe you could compensate for the shallow butterfly with a bit of depth? Hopefully you can feel better soon and keep playing and posting.

That's something I'm trying to be mindful of, but without structured defense I'll get torn apart with backdoor plays if I try to be too aggressive. Regardless, the A level guys in Finland are pretty unreal with deflections too. I don't have the size or coverage to play a blocking style butterfly so those deflections are killing me right now, which then makes me overthink shots and throws my whole game off. It's a lose-lose situation haha

Awesome. I am 52 so I hear you. I sneeze wrong and I am down for a couple of days. Need to time my sneezes so I can still make my Saturday games.

I'm 62 (and a half). Besides my usual prescription meds, on game days, I take an Aleve liquid gel cap, and 2 hours before I play, an Advil liquid gel cap. Good game! Ray

I quit due to a likely labral tear/impingement issue for a few years, but came back playing stand-up/hybrid after watching Cooper Goalie/Jay Pawlowski's videos and some old school Jim Park training clips on YT. Definitely takes getting used to, but no more hip pain! I didn't realize how significant the difference would be pain-wise narrowing the stance and taking that five-hole closure rotation out of the equation. Strongly recommend giving it a shot to any of my fellow hobbled tendies that don't want to give it up!

Cheers man, but I would get absolutely destroyed playing like that at the higher levels haha
