@@sirBrouwer What do you mean "former name"? It's still called the Greenwich Meridian and GMT. (The UK does have daylight savings time, though, so "BST" - British Standard Time - is used to denote GMT + daylight savings adjustment. But GMT itself doesn't change, as that's the reference point for all time zones.)

Especially static electricity. they also known that if you did it wright it could be used as a spark for a fire. it was most likey that they saw electricity as a kind of fire.

Relating to this same question, the ancient Greeks made, what could be considered, a computer. The Antikythera Mechanism automatically tracked the movements of celestial bodies in our solar system and could even predict eclipses. It was lost when it was being transported and the ship it was on sunk. I think the question should read; "Which of these inventions was patented the earliest?"

The ancient Egyptians did effectively create a battery, however they didn't use it as a battery and used the technology to electroplate instead. They didn't understand that they could have harnessed the electrons released in the chemical reaction as a form of energy, so it's debatable to say whether they actually invented the battery since it was never used as such.
