Looks great and Loved your comment that Bullseye may have photoshopped the cover haha.

Think you were brave to do such a large piece first time. Think I might have tried a coaster size piece first. Well done and thanks for sharing as usual.

Did you add a clear sheet over the project?

I took Bullseye’s reaction class and we used golden green opal with silver foil, uncapped. That was a neat reaction! Can’t figure out how to send you a pic

I like that cover too (I also have that book). Your piece turned really well! You can see the fuming around the silver. What is unknown from the cover picture (and the how to) is how much (volume) frit was used and I wonder if just a lighter layer may have given the silver more "room" (air?) to react more. Regardless, I think your piece looks really pretty! ❣

I think you may have used silver leaf rather than foil. That may be why the fuming reaction wasn't as pronounced. I made the mistake of purchasing leaf rather than foil the first time I tried reactions and quickly learned that foil is better. I've always loved that piece on the BE cover. Your piece is stunning.

Ahhhhhh…. Interesting distinction! Yes, I would definitely say this is more leaf than foil! Very thin.

This has to do with the airspace and amount of fume in your kiln. If you have a large airspace, with just a little silver in it, you'll develop less fume. If you have a tighter kiln, or more pieces with silver in them. You'll generate more fume, more reaction.

Ah, that makes sense! My kiln is pretty large…

@@JamaisonSchuler if you try it again, load her up with a bunch of silver pieces, not just the one, and see what happens.
