I bought the Gold palette as a treat for myself for my 40th back in 2019 and that took me down quite the rabbit hole lol! I guess it was my gateway palette haha. Time to bust it back out and show it some love because I definitely don't need the new version!

It's so true. Spending 70 bucks for 6 new shades is quite extra. Sometimes when these "updated" palettes come out it's simply a great reminder to use the beautiful stuff we have.

I just recently purchased my first ND midi palettes. when I saw these leaked photos they caught my eye immediately, and I don't even consider myself someone who looks good with golden shades...but actually I think it's just that historically I just chose gold shades that were too yellow or too brassy, and it just takes time and experimentation to find what complements one's complexion. I think I will be buying this, but since I don't need any new makeup, I'll likely wait for a sale.

I think waiting is smart, especially because some of the shades are quite yellow gold (like Oro). It looks like this will be part of the permanent range, so we all have time to swatch it in person to check the undertones and then wait for a nice big sale.

As i told my friends earlier, i dont need 9 repeat shades, plus 2 light shimmers and 4 mid toned mattes. I have them all elsewhere. Gokd was a beautiful palette, and between that ans inan, i dont need anything more neutral from ND. ❤️

@@TheStyleStumbler I would defo wait for a sale, but I'm in the UK so that rarely happens (on Sephora etc.) HOWEVER....... because I buy from big retailers there's always at least a 20% coupon available online, plus I always have some loyalty points available to spend. I tend to get my ND stuff straight away anyway because of this (a 60 quid palette ends up being under 40 for me usually so I don't really have to wait for a sale as such). Full price, FULL price though, straight away? Nah, noone has to do that these days!

Oh my, finally! I was hoping that the previous Gold palette would be resurrected, I've felt like I've missed out so much on that one! Looking at this new Golden palette, I can already tell that I have most of the shades from various brands. Well, it's something to think about ... 🤔 I appreciate your swatches and the fact that lighter shades are included might steer me toward getting this one! 🤤 I Need a Nude is such a lovely palette and the formula is outstanding, so I'm also hoping that this new Golden palette will be up to speed with the times! 🤞

That is very true: colors like these are easy to find. I usually try to ask myself if getting similar colors in a different texture or formula is really worth it. Most of the time, it's not. But that doesn't stop me from craving this. 😂 The fact that this seems like it will be very similar to the old Gold Palette, but with a few lighter shades instead of those colorful peacock teal shades would probably make it a great everyday palette. And if it has some of those juicy new formulas.... oh dear. I need to stop thinking about it! 😂 🤤 😂

I always think it's great when something new and tempting comes out and then I ultimately don't want it because of details like that. Those green-gold shades were definitely cool, but she probably didn't consider them "neutral" enough for this update. Perhaps we'll see them in a different release, because they were pretty special. They'd be worth bringing back.

I think you're right - with so many repeat shades it won't be worth it for most people who already own the original Gold Palette. But I can definitely see the appeal for people who don't have it.

I never wear gold shimmers despite having quite a few of them. But those beige and brown mattes look so nice... My concern is the lack of preservatives in the formula, because that seems to be the direction ND is going lately. If I spend that kind of money on a palette, I certainly don't want to find mould in it (for at least a couple of years).

Oh no - I didn't know that! It's frustrating me that so many bands are hopping on that bandwagon. Even back in the day, when I only had 1 eyeshadow palette and used it every day for six years straight, I was never able to use it up. So it would be nice if they last!

Okay I LURVE the Gold Palette. I have a warm olive undertone and the Gold Palette has the BEST undertones for me. Gold has long been my favorite ND palette and Gold Mini is my favorite mini. The undertones just work for me. Part of me says just stick with my current Gold palette and be done with it. I mean I already have 2/3 of the shades (if the ones with the same names are indeed still the same colors) BUT my Gold Palette is very old at this point. Luckily, as of right now, it’s still performing very well-both mattes and shimmers. BUT…if she has new formulas for the shimmers… ooohhhh that will be hard to pass up! (Unless I could make looks similar to the Golden midi using my Gold Palette mattes with Yucca midi shimmers) But either way, I’m in no hurry. I want to see reviews of the formulas and swatches to see if it will really add anything new to my collection. If it won’t really, I won’t purchase it until I feel like my Gold Palette isn’t performing well and needs replacing. That could be years from now. If Golden does have new textures and will offer something different from what I have, I’ll get it on sale sometime. But none of this will happen right away!

I can totally see that! The previous Gold releases MADE for warm olive skin. Luckily there is no pressure to pick this one up quickly: it's part of the permanent line. So we can joyfully use our old Gold Palettes until they no longer perform (or are completely destroyed) and then replace it with something as lovely as this - potentially with some of those new formulas - and when it's on sale! But also: have I been hearing correctly, that ND is now going "clean"? If that's the case, it's probably smarter to wait as long as possible for any ND purchases, since the shelf life may not be as long.

Normally I find it annoying when brands repeat shades, but in this case I think it's good - so many people seem sad that they missed the original Gold Palette, so it's nice that they can get several of the shades from it.

It's interesting to see a bit more dimension and color sift to the swatches under artificial light as opposed to the SPARKLE of when you showed them in daylight. Being of a certain age, my brain immediately goes to, "It's Log, log. It's big it's heavy it's wood. It's Log, log. It's better than bad it's good."😂😂😂😂 I'm sure your makeup monster is bouncing around like a spider monkey on Mountain Dew, but the palette over all sounds like a lot of "what's old is new again." And it seems like you already have enough in your collection to dupe most of the shades in the new one. As much as cardio helps, I don't think you need to palette hop to this one.

Lighting has SO MUCH influence on makeup: how it's applied, how it looks, whether it looks dramatic or not - everything can change just by stepping into a different light. Photons are amazing. I have a feeling you might be my one and only viewer who immediately thinks of "It's Log, log. It's big it's heavy it's wood. It's Log, log. It's better than bad it's good." And I think that's awesome. The day can always do with a Ren and Stimpy moment. 😂😂😂😂 I think the palette hopping is actually going to save me from this, since I can just palette hop through what I already have to dupe the looks I would get with the new one. I can already think of some lovely combinations. My swatch goblin is having a field day, even if my makeup monster is whining. 😂 You're right: everything old IS new again!
