I mostly play in 4p games, and my friend once built a cluver Preston that is not a dark horse deck nor big money. That deck used the Old Keyring & Shed a light, with Double Double to discover 5 clues in 1 action. Scavanging and Resourceful for recursion, Take Heart and Unrelenting for draws. Burn After Reading + Signum Crusis is slightly abusing the rules but was played anyways. And as a event-heavy deck it did many different things other than clue-getting too. That deck performed great, but it does require 3+ players for the double double plan. (4p best considering DD & Intel Report) I think the deck in the video can be upgraded towards double double too to go full event heavy if played in 3+ players group.

Just yesterday I finished a 4 player FHV campaign as similar test-at-zero Preston. I took all the survivor investigate at zero stuff, added Lola ofc, and used streetwise to occasionally scavenge keyrings and flashlights (or evade something). Can confirm, the deck is great fun. Rabbit’s foot did not perform well, since basically you’re failing tests only during the Mythos phase - mostly brain and fist tests that is, which surprisingly enough did not come up that often (there are also a lot of enemies, foot and even book tests, treacheries that stick round). LCC would have been a better pick with streetwise. Also shoutout to my personal sleeper hit card from the FHV box - elaborate distraction. This card saved my ass many times in different decks and campaigns, and it’s a great fit in Preston

Once a month? let's go! The once I would like to see are investigators with clear restrictions, like Carolyn With gameplay (and thus deckbuilding) altering abilities, like Luke, who has 2 different ones (events and teleports) Someone who has multiple very different deckbuilding paths, like Patrice. (mind matters or moment to moment value). Lola, because that is the only investigator i see no reason to bother with. Change my mind please. Edit: Preston does already fit in a bunch of these categories.

Streetwise was my MVC through Circle Undone to evade enemies and boost my book higher for the mariners compass tests.

Streetwise was definitely a miss in the upgrades in the video. I think I added it afterwards.

You only need 2 actions over 2 rounds for lodge debts i believe... the second time you just spend from the heritage (6 you hoarded + 4 you get)

And the action to play Lodge Debts.

Looks great! What other route can I take for preston for 2/3 players if I don't have TSK?

I'd probably look at flexing with Preston instead. Using Small Favor and Decoy and Cunning Distraciton (and Elaborate Distraction, if you have it).

Fantastic deck idea--thank you. Gonna try it soon. Any campaign recs aside from Forgotten Age and Carcosa, both of which I am currently playing?

Honestly, I have a hard time choosing my own campaigns to play because I feel I played them all so recently. My suggestion is Preston Fairmont in Edge of the Earth, because that sounds like a funny situation for our favourite millionaire to be in.

This deck really wants matchbox right? Might sub in for signum.

Matchbox would fit nicely in this deck for sure. I think in two player I wouldn't include it (actions are generally more of a premium there), but if I was modifying this deck for three-four player, that is probably one of the changes I'd make. Additionally, I'd be looking at upgrading *out* of Signum Crucis, but Matchbox would likely be there forever, so it really depends on the upgrade plan too.
