Very cool, although one small thing to clarify... The RCQs happen several times per year, and even the Regional Championships and Pro Tours happen multiple times too. The World Championship is the one that happens only once per year.
@ArloPedersen10 ай бұрын
Ah yes, I realize now how that could sound confusing, what I meant is that these tournaments happen every year, although it does sound more dramatic when you phrase it “every year there’s a tournament…” haha

Super sick, I hope to see more Magic content from you!! One quick note: I really liked how you explained some things, like the overall cardpool versus deck size, but I think you could try to break things down a bit better for a non-Magic viewer. For example, the concept of lands can be kind of weird for people who don't play, or the concepts of card advantage or why the Lightning Axe was the perfect draw. Again, super loved your video and I hope to see more!!
@ArloPedersen10 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yeah I was trying to find the balance between making it understandable for non-magic players yet still interesting for someone who plays the game. As for more magic content in the future, that’s always a possibility but my channel’s more focused on the filmmaking/editing side of things. You can definitely expect more videos with this same style to it though!
@GrizzneyGames10 ай бұрын
@12brickstudios Ooh! I like that concept of a channel. I do believe that tying magic into that could definitely keep pushing you. On numbers alone, you will have an audience for sure.
@baconscoobysnacks31356 ай бұрын
You can play 1 land every turn and every card has a cost an example would be 3 green. Inorder to play it you have to have 3 green on the table and you turn them sideways to use them and play your card. Once the land is sideways it is used for that turn and you have to wait until next turn before you can use that land again. As far as his perfect draw, I'm assuming he drew a damage spell and was able to use it on the other person's health winning the game or he used it on the opponents creature so the opponent had no units to block his attack.

Throw yourself into it and enjoy it my dude! I made top 8 at a few PTQs in my day and remember them very fondly, no regrets! If you have a group to test with try printing out a metagame gauntlet deck. You take the decks to beat in the metagame you are targetting (for example 10 different decks), and then print out card faces with a list of 1-10. Assign each deck a number and write one card from each deck down the list till you have all 10 decks in 1.

If you are interested in even cheaper formats look for rcq’s or other high level events that run limited format environments. You have to be good at limited (sealed or draft) deck building but you only pay the for the entry and limited card pool rather than downing 200+ dollars for a constructed pioneer deck like you did here.

This game has really taken control of my life. I have amassed a huge collection within 2-3 years, building X-Modern as well as EDH / CDEH decks and spending 5 figures. My tip - just copy (proxies) the cards to try out new decks and if you play Friday Night Magic it is allowed and only at real tournaments you have to own the cards. Cheers PS: Great video
@deckmageccg35618 ай бұрын
My man, this is one heck of a video!! The production is incredible and the deck you chose is absolutely top tier in Pioneer. I play a Golgari Lotleth mill deck and had to modify the deck to run 4x Cavalier of Thorns in the main board specifically for your deck's Arclight Phoenix. If you can drop the Ledger Shredder on curve and it lives, it can eat the removal so that your Arclights can go in for the win. It's an annoying deck whether on paper or on Arena. Best of luck in 2024!!
