Thankfully, EDH Sharazad is slightly less awful than it could be. See, in regular magic there's this nightmare of a rule: __722.4. All objects in the main game and all cards outside the main game are considered outside the subgame (except those specifically brought into the subgame). All players not currently in the subgame are considered outside the subgame.__ But this is thankfully (unintentionally) stopped by an EDH-specific rule: __10. Parts of abilities which bring other traditional card(s) you own from outside the game into the game (such as Living Wish; Spawnsire of Ulamog; Karn, the Great Creator; Wish) do not function in Commander.__ You can still loop it, of course, you just can't create a recursive nightmare. There's only three banned subgame cards to play with, so you can only go so deep.

@@Gemini476 you basically need to copy your own shahrazad while it's on the stack, get the original back into the deck somehow, and ideally do this in a way that also gets itself back into the deck before the copied shahrazad resolves. Which is probably possible - but due to its convolutedness and requirement of otherwise horrible cards not even close to a cedh move.

@@michaelrichards5253 thassa's oracle states that you can look at x cards(x being devotion to blue) frok the top of the library and if x is greater then thee number of remaining cards you win the game. Consolation makes it so you name a card and remove cards from your deck until you hit the named card. So you play thassa and with the effect on the stack you play consultation naming a card that doesn't exist in your deck. This exiles your entire deck consultation no longer has cards to remove so it's effect ends and thassa's effect goes off

Like the other comments here say, it's not banned because it's good, but you would be wrong to not play it in 99% of decks that run Blue and Red. The decks that wouldn't run Lutri would be the Persistent Petitioners and Dragon's Approach type of decks. Having something that is a literal must include is really unhealthy for any game and it's very reasonable that Lutri is banned for this reason

I do think when you have the only one rule. To find fun game to play with no banlist, to actually ban Thassa's Oracle from that as an exception of the only rule. Trying to do the same thing in No Banlist cEDH as you do in regular cEDH isn't fun unfortunatly. I do wish this would have ended differently. However, I love the videos you do, I think it's the best you could watch for an cEDH player. So I'm not here to give you crap. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep watch every video you post. I really loved this with the pseudo banlist restricting the flash/time vault out of your games. I wish there was a minimal banlist CEDH format. Really brings back memories of Vintage games back in the the mid 2000s. Such spicy plays for everyone!

What I learned most from this is that the Thoracle combo needs to be broken up. It's always the most efficient win line and it's gotten stale. Demonic Consultation and Tainted Pact can easily be removed from the format without harming any other archetypes.

Printing them at home is the easiest way currently. You can actually see I printed a couple proxies too small but ended up using them anyways, check out the Breeding Pool I have in play in the second game!

Not at this time. We've tried the whole "commanders from X set as CEDH" and it really doesn't show very well. The truth is there just aren't many viable commanders for CEDH that come out of each set. We are lucky to get 1-2.

@@PlayingWithPowerMTG Oh, nice! I like seeing people use proxies for EDH since it's mostly a for fun format (I'd say even cEDH is a for fun format, other than when it's a cEDH Tournament) but playing "unoptimized due to budget" decks isn't really a great experience imo. Proxies fix this.
