I’ve never seen the second plate there for runners to touch when running home. What would happen on a non-force play? Would the catcher need to just touch the plate (theirs) when getting an out with a runner running home or do they physically need to touch the runner?

So on the non-force play at the plate there is a perpendicular line going across between 3rd and home. Once the runner crosses that line they are committed to go home so at that point the fielder would just have to touch “their” plate while in possession of the ball. I hope that help :)

@@slowpitchdingers Just had a game like this over here in germany. The team that invited us made up the same rule with comittmend-line and Home-Safety base .. and than, their own runner runs over the Home Plate hitting our catcher who just cought the ball (slapped it out of her hand while running through her) and was called safe .. what a BS i tell you. In a Tournament in Vienna you where called Out if you wouldnt run over the safety base but instead run over the Home plate. They should've done the same, but yeeh .."their rules" i guess.

There is a much better way to do this. I guess the league director here has a high supply of plates and chalk 😂 Anyway, remove that 2nd plate entirely. Leave that commit line between 3rd and home and make that line much longer. Get rid of the perpendicular line. Not only is that an eyesore but these are adults, not kids. Now about the screen near the pitcher-WOW! Forget about it. Just ridiculous! The pitcher should learn how to defend the position with their mitt instead of become spectators after throwing a pitch. Just sayin'
