Great instructional video. I like how you both breakdown each step. I would like to see an instructional video on how to get more power on a single and two-handed backhand swing. Thank you.

Can you talk about handling lobs, particularly when one player is older and has limited (like poor) mobility.

I see you both have a Selkirk, would you mind telling me the models please? Im looking to get a Selkirk that is light but that i can hit good drives like you are teaching. Thank you🤗

You say to take a firm grip and hold the wrist firm. Most of the other teachers I have seen say that a huge key is to take a loose grip and loosen your wrist to let it whip through the ball naturally. Can you provide context/reasoning on one approach vs the other?

Some of it can have to do with the grip you use. If you have a more continental grip the spin you generate will be more from your swing path than your wrist. If you swing closer to semi-western there maybe be more wrist involved. In general we find that moving your wrist creates an added variable and may hinder your ability to strike the ball consistently. Can your wrist help you? Absolutely but this is typically a more successful way to teach beginners in our experience. There really isn’t ONE right way to do every shot. Find what works for you.

Oh my, both of your swing mechanics need work. Even the way youre holding and gripping the paddle. Analyze it with slow motion and compare it with someone known to have a good swing like Jaume, who recently beat Ben Johns.

Thanks for your feed back! People grip the paddles differently…there’s no one right way to do it. Definitely not claiming to be able to beat Ben Johns! If so we wouldn’t be making these videos…we would be playing Ben Johns. But it sure would be fun to play against you…because you sound competitive 😉
