These tutorials are awesome. Highly recommend watching on half-speed

*Great reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend very smooth and I love that you can change from left hand to right hand so easily. Gave it a 4 on durability because I haven’t had it long enough to rate it. Doing good so far.*

I have to say, I've been doing poi for several months now and every turning move tutorial I've seen has made no sense. I wish I'd had these videos earlier. They are by far the best and easiest to follow. Thanks so much!

These beginner videos are NOT on the DVD. The DVD Adventures in Poi is a compilation of advanced moves tutorials. The beginner videos are a separate project :)

You are such a brilliant teacher!!! Thank you for that video! Got it first time and watched so many others without getting such a simple move. So happy :D

I've gotta admit, I was hesitant at first. I made the mental connection with all the douchebag ravers of the 90s that I had to endure in my home town with the wide pants... but I have to appologise for my unfair preconceptions. These videos are fantastic. You explain everything in a way that makes perfect sense, which is more than I can say for most pay-for-lessons DVDs I've used for other things (like the guitar) and your videos show the moves incredibly clearly by people that understand the problems a newbie would have to overcome. These are some of the best lessons for anything I have seen on KZbin. Thanks, playpoi!

It might be something to do with your confidence. How long have you been doing poi for? You need to remember to not be scared of them and just go with the flow. Sometimes it helps if you do it to music and go with the beat.

I imagine when I try this tomorrow, it's going to be incredibly helpful. :] You did a great job of explaining something that most instructional videos had difficulty with. I actually understood this! Thanks. :] Haha. Butt. :]

Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod kzbin.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.

Synchronicity! Burning Dan and I have been using a similar approach to be used in Flow Temple classes. But seriously Nick, what we all really want to see is more advanced 'butt' spinning!!! :-P That "use your butt" thing cracked me up (but it's so true). Costa Rica is gonna rock!!

For forward to backward behind the back, am I supposed to be 'stalling' the poi at the top of the arc behind my back during a forward spin and then moving it into a backward spin as I complete the turn?

Nope, it's not supposed to be elastic :)

Jody Ramsay The best poi available for your money are Podpoi. They run about $100, but they're extreme'y durable and made of soft silicone that is perfect for beginners
