You truly have a knack for explaining the moves. Great energy too. I've been out of practice for ages and I am looking forward to going through all your videos for refreshers and to learn lots more. Thanks!

I will honestly admit, at first, I thought his terminology, 'chop the wood' etc, was kind of silly. But after doing it myself 'a lot', its actually VERY helpful. Your instructions couldn't be anymore detailed/intuitive, and I love it. :D I really just cant get over the fact, that some other videos are like "Watch me do it. Ok now you do it," with no instruction/tips at all. Quite the opposite with your vids, and again, I LOVE it!!!

This actually got me into the shoulder reels after only a few tries! I already had the general technique but this added that extra little drop of knowledge which filled the cup! Thanks and keep up the great work. :)

I’m a massive novice at this! So glad I found this vid thank you for uploading this move, wondered how these were done. It helped to be shown in an easy way to remember while practicing, ( ps my kids massively laughed when I tried this for the first time!! Like “mum what are you doing?” I’m swishing son, I’m swishing!) :)

great, thanks! I'm a total beginner and this progression works really well. I didn't totally appreciate until I was doing the swing, golf swing a few times and the light bulb went on and I was able to do the whole move a few times. Thanks for the time you spend on these vids.

"I was calm, and mouldable for teaching until the, "Butt, golf ball, butt, golfball, butt, golf-...", part; lol. Somewhat reminiscent of, "How to draw a cat!", Circle, circle, something else; BAM! cat! "How to do shoulder reels!" .... Butt, golfball........... *three hours later*"

No offence to anyone here, what you do in your spare time is your own business. Just a fact from me, a maori native from New Zealand, the poi belongs to our culture & our very being. We hold it so closely to our hearts as a way of expressing emotions through ancient rituals and dances, and that is where the poi originated. It is a delicate and beautiful item of performance, which we as maori cherish. To see these things being labelled as "poi" raise eyebrows among the maori community as these things are taking the beauty away from the poi's poise(get it) & purity. Aswell as most people who take part in "poi" not acknowledging its origins. Take your time to see how a real poi performance is done by simply typing "maori poi" in the search bar. Thanks :)
