PlayStation 2 BIOS Corruptions #1: Turret Does a Thing

Tried out BIOS corruptions for the first time using the Windows Glitch Harvester. Pretty minor results most of the time, as graphical glitches are really rare. But hey, it was still fun!
Now if only I could get the Vinesauce ROM Corruptor to work with these BIOS... then I could get the best results...

As silly as it sounds now, as a kid I used to have an undying sense of paranoia and unease whenever the "Disc Error" screen showed up; a red and black endless oblivion with an ominous ambience echoing through my T.V used to scare the shit out of me, even now I get a nostalgic tingle in my spine from my bad memories with it. Now that I think about it, the PS2's Menu Screen would always set me on edge as a child: it felt so soulless and mechanical, but yet such an intriguing and strange machine. Mind you, the PlayStation 2 was the first ever Games Console I had; my only other experience with Video Games before then was a special Pikachu Edition of a GameBoy Colour with Tetris DX & Pokemon Gold.

Same, I remember first playing it around 2003, also around the time Ape Escape 2 came out, which was my first video game ever. Then came the day I tried turning the console on without a disc... great memories were made that day. And then there was the day I tried opening the disc drive while a game was still on... more memories were made that day. XD

Callum Sparrow I too, was pretty scared when I saw the RSOD Disc Read Error screen. It first happened when I put a copy of Pac-Man World 3 in my PS2, and it was perfectly clean too, and when I saw the red cubes show up, I immediately ejected the disc and didn't play the game for months. The next time I put it in, it worked just fine.

if it's on an emulator, you should be able to get everything back to normal as long as a backup of your BIOS was saved. if you're doing this on real hardware, I have no idea, I don't think anyone does cuz non-emulated corruptions are very dangerous

I can, it's possible, but about 95% of the time results in an eternal blank screen or it crashes the emulator.

ehh..... I'd rather not ruin my PS2. Doing it through emulation is easier since you can just restore a clean BIOS in case anything goes horribly wrong. Plus, I have no idea how I could corrupt an actual piece of hardware.

Turret 3471 You wouldn't XD But corruption is a trial and error process. If you want results on the level of WelshGamer (now known as ZeroDucksGiven) you should up the corruption values. Also, try other BIOSes such as GameCube. The GC BIOS gave hilarious results. You could also try games.

But like I said in the video, I have no idea how to get the Vinesauce Rom Corruptor to work with the PS2 BIOS, which is what WelshGamer did (in fact he's the one who inspired me to do this video). I've asked multiple people for the past two weeks for advice on how to load the BIOS into the VSRC, along with which files and where to load them into, but no luck.
