Great video!! I soldered HDMI kits on my Wii, OG Xbox and Dreamcast. I took one look at the flex for this PS2 Slim Retro GEM kit and went “nope!” Had it professionally installed. Glad I did.

The sad part is this is the easier version of the PS2 Slim to work on. The first slim I worked on needed tons of cutting and plastic shaving. I really thought I'd be in for the same amount of work for this one. Thanks for watching!

Wow, great job on the install, you're a pro. I like this kit and I'm glad it existst but I feel like the Make Mhz kit for the OG Xbox puts out a much better quality image.
@RetroRenegadeRepairs7 ай бұрын
Yea, out of the box, the kits from Mhz are set for the highest quality picture. The Gem can look nice if you go with the Shiny or upgrade to it, but its nearly $200.00 at that point.

Awesome walk through. I thought the fat was way more tricky than the slim IMO. Love the channel btw

Thanks. Yea, when you add in the RePS2 it starts to make things more complicated and time consuming. The SCPH-50000 with the like 5 variant power supply doesn't help much either; I'm no fan of the heatsink cutting on it.

@@RetroRenegadeRepairs agreed. I ended up moving the crystal over too with some wire probably an inch or so. Admittedly I could have ordered the one recommended but this was my own console and I couldn't wait lol

I really like your videos, the effort is very noticeable, I hope you can reach 100K, greetings from Nicaragua

I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. 100K, its possible, but everything right needs to happen. Thanks for watching!

WTF?? with the music around the 09:00 mark?? Another great video, wish i had a service like you around here in the netherlands.

Ah, you may not have seen the TV series "Home Improvement". I'm sure there are a few people performing these kinds of services in your area. Thanks again for watching!

You make it look easy. I was a welder for 10 years but this still looks difficult. I twill start practicing. Seems like a new challenge I want to get into. May be takes some electrical classes too.

I started by trying to mod my own consoles. You could buy some broken consoles/electronics and practice on those.

Buenos Nachos Triple R! Love your videos and work - do you find the flux remover works better than 99% RA and a cotton swab? I'm very curious

I find that it seems to break it apart, and I have been told the effectiveness is because it has some acetone as part of the solution. Thanks for watching!

I believe they never released a model with the modem in your region, but I couldn't be certain. I could have worn some flannel. Completely forgot about that.
