Hi Professor. I have a ps3 just like the one shown in your video and I had the same symptoms: It turned off randomly without any beeps. Thanks to your video, I found a resistor with high resistance - the 470 ohms one shown in your video. I changed the resistor and the PS3 was fixed. It no longer turns itself off. An DC-to-DC converter chip with 1.8 volts at the input and 1.5 volts, that have some biases resistor. A resistance at the value of 55 Ohms goes bad in its biasing, which also causes this problem. You must check another DC-to-DC converter chip at the board's backside with the same volt input coupling at 90 ohms value. Hope it will help.

Do you have a reference or chart that shows what these resistor values should be? Bad resistors seems to be a common problem with the PS3 slim.

​@@idreestechthank you i got the missing smds but now i have another problem with this weird model i have replaced a many electronics component's like you do in your video's and i have changed many ic's but it keeps turn off itself after 1 second Red light + 1 beep and green light and turn's off and no red light just if i press the button again i have check the syscon at show's error code 2024 + 2124 + 2040 and i have changed the HDMI encoder & AV encoder & F6300 but at didn't work at all it's keeping a same problem with same error code's

@@Devil_Guy666 Oh my God, if you have changed so many components in it then it might be a cpu or nand issue. Short its tri-state test point and see if it stays on.

This time you didn't supply any power to the motherboard from a power supply nor did you use the oscilloscope. You used the metering device. Would a multimeter have done the job too? I know it would've been slower, but would it have worked similarly to measure the resistance of the resistors?

My ps3 slim (3008a) shutdown with a tick sound after some time (1hr) and when i reboot again it only works for 5-10min and so on then i have to wait for whole day to play for 1hr.I changed thermal paste its on 55-65c at 35% fan speed while gaming i dont know whats wrong with ps3 .Also ps3 wifi/Bluetooth is broken(voltage regulator dead) i dont have enough experience to fix it.But today it just turn on for a second and turn off with no LED.Please Help :(

TheJosephAnime Thanks for sharing your issue. A PS3 that shuts off after some time 3 beeps, again 3 beeps and blinks red is typically overheating or has a thermal-related issue. Since you've already cleaned the dust, check the thermal paste on the CPU and RSX chips-it might be dried out and ineffective. Replace it with a good-quality thermal paste. Also, inspect the thermal pads and ensure the fan is functioning optimally. If the issue persists, it might be a power supply problem.

Hi sir. Great video and great explaination. I am having the same problem with my ps3. Before it took about 30 secs to shut down. Now it takes about 4 to 5 secs.
