If I could've picked the 20 games it'd be: 1) Final Fantasy 7 2) Metal Gear Solid 3) Castlevania Symphony of the Night (honestly surprised this wasn't included) 4) Parasite Eve (which was actually included in the PS1 Classic japanese version) 5) Resident Evil 1, 2 or 3 (personally I'd choose 3) 6) Harvest Moon Back to Nature 7) Gran Turismo 2/Ridge Racer Type 4 (but I understand if they can't get the license for the cars so I guess we'll stick with Ridge Racer) 8) Parappa the Rapper 9) Tekken 3 (NTSC version) 10) Street Fighter Alpha 3 11) Wild Arms 12) Tomb Raider (any of them) 13) Suikoden 2 14) Arc the Lad 1 or 2 (the PS1 Classic japanese version included 1 and 2) 15) Crash Bandicoot 1, 2 or 3 16) Spyro 1, 2 or 3 (although 2 and 3 improved a lot from 1) 17) Silent Hill 18) Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo 19) Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee 20) Twisted Metal 2 Certain games like Ape Escape aren't included because they require the analog sticks to play. Honestly if I was Sony I'd just change the game lineup cause the hardware is all fine (except maybe the controllers not having analog sticks) but the game lineup is lacking although if they did that it might piss off those who already bought the PS1 Classic (understandably).

FYI, that PAL version of RE: Director's Cut isn't the one that you're thinking of, with the awful soundtrack. That was the RE: Director's Cut Dual Shock Edition, which released in NTSC territories after the version you see here, and didn't come out in PAL regions. It wouldn't make sense to have the Dual Shock version on here, since the mini PS1 console doesn't run DS controllers, just the standard ones.

If you put a Twisted Metal on a PS Classic you put Twisted Metal 2. Infinitely better than the first game. Also I'd like to see a new Jumping Flash for PS VR. Would be fun as hell.

I love how everyone says they should've put Tony Hawk on this but, that is a legal red tape nightmare. You got to get permission to use the all skater's likeness including asking Disney/Marvel to use Spiderman, you have to get permission from all the licensed bands, and pay each and everyone of them.

Can you explain this? The game is already made and licensed by Sony right? How does the copyright affect an already made title?

It depends on how the original contract was written. Modern licensing has a time limit but I’m not sure that skaters would’ve been that savvy in that era.

They’d probably have to renegotiate licensing. The owners of the franchise would probably want some kind of royalty for every unit sold and (at least from the 5 minutes I took to google search) that’s the reason some classic sports games were left out of the SNES and NES Classics. It’s also probably why a shit ton of other games like Gran Turismo aren’t on there either.

@@parism9172 Because, it has Tony Hawk's name and image on it and they would need to get permission not just from him but every represented skater or else Sony would be liable to get seriously sued. Same for the music the entire soundtrack in licensed music from many different bands and they would need to not only ask for permission but pay royalties to use the songs in the game. Finally, there is the fact that Spiderman is a secret character and they would need to go through either Disney or Marvel in order to have him in the game. If Sony wanted to get Pro Skater in it would be the most expensive and annoying process to go through that the Playstation Mini would be jack up from it's $99 status to a higher price in order to gain back what they paid for to get the skaters and music for one game.

There is a reason why a bunch of the games you mentioned on here . It's called copyrights companies like Activision Electronic Arts and Konami are so greedy I'm not surprised any of their games are not on there. Activision even said they had no interest in putting old versions of Spyro and crash on there because of the re-releases.

I agree with the rating without any mods and hacks. I hacked mine and it has become infinitely better then before with games like soul edge and blood roar 2. With mods I would give it an 8/10 as it is incredibly more entertaining then the experience without mods

They actually included the best version of the original Resident Evil. It retains the original music and has the DC features. It was the dual shock version that had the ass soundtrack.

No one is arguing why they arent here. Theyre arguing that they arent here. Everyone understands why theu arent here, new releases or ports. All of those games are iconic ps1 games. If you arent going to put iconic ps1 games on the ps1 classic, dont release one. Other wise it feels like a lazy cash grab that was cobbled together with little thought.

Yeah the choices are really bad. Good thing however is that people are figuring out how to play other games on it. So once there is a reliable way to replace the games I'm going for it with my PS Classic. Stuff like THPS2&3, Spiderman 1&2, RE2,3 and Gun Survivor, GTA2,...
