the ssd is a big one, i was getting extreme menu lag on my og ps4 and lots of crashes and no ammount of rebuilding database etc helped, but i got a SSD (250gb as i dont play too many games) and it runs flawlessly now.

Breydenss I got a samsung EVO 860 1GB I live in the UK for £139. And if you have a ps4 pro, installing the SSD is easy as there is a seperate area for taking out the ssd compared to old PS4 where you have to dismantle most of the PS4 to get to it.

Thanks for the video man always good to get these things to people who can use them 😎 I had a PS4 controller I got from the GameStop trash and the charger did not work so I cut off a USB and hooked it to the battery harness and I just carry an external battery in my pocket. Was gonna put a 18650 on it but I need to order a socket.. that's beside the point lol I suppose what I wanted to say was *if you disconnect the light you also disconnect the charger port* 😎

Actually, I don't think it does. It's just a tiny LED; I heard it doesn't make up much battery usage at all. But take it with a grain of salt.

@@NIGHTST4R Almost useless. When you're gaming in a dark room, which you're not supposed to do, the light adds some kind of ambience that fits the game. It wasn't a bad idea, but Sony didn't really think it through, since one does not simply look at their controller while playing video games.

One outstanding feature on the PS4 that is often TOTALLY overlooked is the "zoom" accessibility. Extremely useful for small text and magnification. Works completely inside games as well with panning via controller. Enable it via the accessibility menu.

To add to the ssd thing. I have a giant 6tb reg drive as my external and a 1tb internal ssd. Games I play the most are on the ssd and if I want to play something on the external I move it to the ssd. It's a great way to get the ssd benefits without having to buy the biggest ssd and plenty of storage to not have to delete things.

SSD-- I load up to a minute quicker into Destiny 2 tower before other clanmates. As well as, the "loading" areas where you get stuck, dont happen anymore. Its worth it for those things, but also the speed to download and install games. Wow.

Is there a minimum ssd size requirement for an older standard 1tb ps4. I have a 240 gb external ssd on order but since read it might be too small. Bugger.

@@martintownley5803 I don't think there is, not certain though. I recall someone stating they are using a 250 but I don't know if it was used internally or external. If you use yours externally it more than likely has no limits. However I'd recommend replacing the internal with an ssd so everything runs of of it. I replaced my standard internal with a 1tb ssd and everything runs like a top.

If you plan on plugging out your light bar, don't. The light bar motherboard is connected to the main motherboard through a ribbon cable, but also the USB charging port is on the mini board

I have a first gen PS4 and I upgraded the hard drive to a 1TB Segate hard drive. It costs me $65 Canadien, cheaper than the new copy-paste Madden. Upgrading your hard drive on base models is the easiest upgrade you can do, there is only 5 pretty standard screws under that glossy portion of the console you can take off.

@@christopherquintanilla6572 it is really worth it. It just performs so much better overall, no menu lag, less frame drops, fast boot, a bit more silent too. If budget is tight I'd recommend getting like 256 or 500gb ssd and usb hdd closure for old drive (cost is like 10 dollars) , that way you can keep few most played games on ssd and the rest on your old hdd. 100% would recommend for everyone
