I just got a portal and have been wondering what would be best as for as headsets for it. Thank you for the video and the information it was a big help. I'll definitely be going for the wired option.

I use wireless headset paired to the ps5 and turn portal to mute.

I was seriously considering this product for the holidays but forgot about the choice to not allow 3rd party Bluetooth headphones. Now I probably won't pick these up again

Example, say you were watching my viral hit movie 🎬 (The Adventures Of Diddy) and she saw you snickering in the middle of the night. She would start huffing and puffing, and when you ask, "What's the matter?" She would say nothing. But a couple minutes later, she would mention you using the phone. "Can you turning down" or "the screen is too bright"

I have the Pulse Explore buds. While they do sound great, I have sooo many connection issues. Sound drop on one or both happens at least once every 30 mins or so. It generally fixes itself after a second or two, but it’s incredibly annoying. This happens on the PS5 as well as when I’m on my PC. Wish I knew a legit way to fix this!

You can use any usb heastset on the portal when the usb is connected to the ps5

With the portal now being independent of the the PS5 the buds are worth the investment! Ordered mines today.

@MattAndre24 🙄🙄🙄 ABSOLUTELY poor excuse with the current technology. There are 20$ Bluetooth plug in dongle that have zero latency, so let's stop defending a clear cash grab to force you to buy their products.

Yeah they are pretty dirt, I like mine but it’s HEAVILY WiFi dependent lol ONE dip and bandwidth and you’ll feel it

I got a static noise when i connect my marshal headphones wired on the portal. I do not get it anywhere else. Not even when i plug it in the regular PS5 controller. It is frustrating... My wired earbuds do not have this issue. It seems to be this specific combination PS portal with Marshall major 4 headphones....

OR, OR you can get the pulse elite, I’ve had no issues with it sliding or moving around on my head. Of course you look like a goofball with a headset on while in bed. But it’s cheaper then the explorers, you can still sync your phone simultaneously. For me that’s a big deal so I can hear the baby monitor while I’ve got the headset on. And it’s got a significantly longer battery life then the explore. And I’ve experienced no latency issues with the elites either.

I just use the old pulse 3d headphones. They have a wired option so I plug it into the portal.

Does the mic work? So you just get a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm cable and leave the dongle in the ps5?

@@NewMateo I am not sure if the mic works. The 3.5 mm cable comes in the box and yes you can leave the dongle in the ps5. You can actually keep the headset powered off and it will still work as long as the wire is plugged into your device.

The volume level is so low through wired headphones. Can’t believe the ps portal has no Bluetooth. I’m tempted to buy this dongle tbh

Bluetooth is HORRENDOUS audio latency. It's not worth it.

@@MattAndre24nah man. I bought the PS portal because how great PS remote play worked for me. And the whole time I was using my aptx HD Bluetooth earbuds on my phone without any noticeable latency. Aka audio is in sync with lips and so forth. It never felt like I was playing dub games lol.

Did you try using a bluetooth connection usb-c adapter where you can plug the dongle into the said adapter and straight to the portal

What can we learn from this? That once the giants brought out innovative things, today Apple just comes up with strange new names for the colors and Sony brings out a device without Bluetooth for all option

That's.. Literally how it works, yes. The Portal won't even work unless your PS5 is either on or in Rest Mode, and in its settings has the option to turn on remotely.
