I have been saying this exact same thing for a couple of years now. It seems like a lot of people are supporting the PS6 being all digital. I have been saying this. I will be retiring from gaming if PS and Xbox go all digital. I don't want to be renting games. Sony removes games from the store now that I paid for. I still have all of my retro gaming consoles. From my Atari 2600 thru up until now. I have plenty of retro games to play. If all goes digital, well I will probably be reconnecting my Dreamcast and my N64 first and start enjoying those games again. I will see what the PS6 is going to be. All digital only, I won't be buying anymore PS's or Xbox's.

I was hardcore gamer started when I was 7 around 1997-1998 played a lot frm then on until 2008, epic games game out during this time down as well, I then took a 12 year break from 2009-2020 pretty much started gaming again wen covid hit, i believe all young men from 20-30 don’t play game and enjoy ur life

Has nothing to do with "digital" it has to do with server requirements, my Switch got banned from Nintendo's servers and my PHYSICAL game library stopped working because it requires updates from their servers to even launch... What saved me was "digital" the ability to run software from an SD card specifically, and this should be a wake up call to many of you, these servers WILL be taken down someday, and when they are your PS Portals are gonna become paperweights

This worries lot of people right now. And to mentioned it this is off for a whole month as others mentioned. We will get a free month to our subscription. Probably not and then as you mentioned the risk of a digital world only. Not physically owing the game. I mean look at Google Stadia for an example. That gaming service was shutdown after we bought the hardware for it and the games. I had high hopes were others predicted that it was going to be a flop at the end and it was. So the fear as you said. full digital world is a rise of going through this and can be hacked and breached and we lose our gams we paid for cause of someone just want to be jerks and harm what we love. Is this the case right now. No one really knows but Playstation is really keeping things quite about this. Hopefully we will know more Monday and it's cause of a weekend issue for the lack of response from them. Suck that can't play my Portal right now and I just renew my subscription on the 6th. Hope its not down a whole month.

I completely agree with you about physical media and physically owning a console! We do need to protect both of those things at all costs! It is hugely important for kids to be able to open a new shiny console under the Christmas tree, it can easily be a core memory. I can't believe people don't understand this.

I have 1 physical PS5 disc, forbidden west. Gamefly sent me the wrong disc and would not take it back, claimed I was "trying to pull a fast one". I said ok send it back, they did and with a bill for the other game.

I'm assuming why they not able to put games on disk and your forced to download them. Maybe cause of the game size. I made can a disk even fit 150GB of data? But if these games are only to download why do we still see the message. Disk can't be read if the game is digitally downloaded through the network. Like example I rented Horizon Forbidden West from gamyfly. I kept getting the can't read disk error. I don't get it. I finally got it to work after taking the disk and giving it a deep clean. But still, makes no sense. There is no game data on a disk. Why would it matter if a disk is readable or not.

Had to turn on min PlayStation 5 with a controller Restart the portal spam the login button between 3-10 times and it would log me in on the portal and I could use it again, (I mostly play single player games) But it seems to be fixed in my region with is Denmark about an hour ago and have been able to login no problem multiple times now
