Not disagreeing with you, I mean the love for venom is there and we've seen him in some sorts of mainstream pop culture or at least highlighted a few times be it the movie or the animated tv series or the ultimate alliance games. But Y U NO MAKE CARNAGE? For once I know his symbiote pattern would be take a lot of work as it is more like strings and web like in comparison to venom's more solid appearance. Granted from a technological designer point of view I could imagine that Carnage would take a lot of effort to make him look remotely right. Probably on the same level as animating hair in the industry. But yeah the only time I saw carnage outside of comics was from the top of my mind the 90's animated series near the finale. And if Insomniac really is from fans for fans, like the web-swinging from spider-man 2 where the web actually attaches to the top of the closest building, Arkham's close combat system (which let's be honest is really the best combat system regardless of franchise, licensing, rivalry, etc.), and just the mention of Miles Morales, which at the very least is a nicely easter egg for the fans, they must really eff this up to not be at the very least a playable game. Story is now the point I'm waiting for. I also don't mind the ''quick time event'' like up swing because it's basically the bat-hook from Arkham or the power gauntlet from AC Syndicate to mention another ''rival''. I think it should be more than okay for game developers to take inspirations from their gaming competitors. I know butt hurt people will be ''they stole it... that's so copied from...'' but if the best parts of several different games worked for the people, the fans, the everyday gamer, why not ''borrow'' it for a game that's really all about fan-service and giving the people what they want/miss the most from every good game. Sorry went way off the rails... But yeah all in all, Venom's a all time favourite but I think Carnage would be a close second when it comes to symbiotes and their popularity.
