That isn't how video games work, they would either 1: React to nothing, and you have to run into the dungeon, from nothing, or 2:They would all freeze, depends on how they programmed their cutscenes.

It's not a contender for this list, but you might want to try Pillars of Eternity at some point if you were ever a fan of Baldur's Gate or the like. It's definitely designed for people who are limited to actually reasonable play sessions of an hour or two in mind. And not in the MGS4 sense where the game tells you in overlong loading screen "IT IS TIME TO GO DO SOMETHING ELSE NOW!" (which was a message that didn't really work anyway if you were following the story because...wait, are you saying Hideo Kojima actually expected anyone to stop playing after the Rex v Ray duel?)

some mates at the uni video game society found this game called flower it's a strange title and wouldn't seem the most marketable or manly but i thought the visuals were nice it had atmosphere and while all right i can't imagine the sixaxis motion controls were that easy to get used to it seemed like a unique title essentially you control a trail of flower petals as they ride on the wind and brushing against certain flowers will cause the colours to change and sometimes lamps turn on and buildings start appearing as i said strange but oddly satisfying

+timebomb456 It is a wondrous game, but I think they didn't want to put 2 games by the same small developer in the video (it was made by the same people who made Journey). I will testify that it is one of the few games where the controller tilting actually works and doesn't feel broken or badly designed. Maybe the only game? And yes, it probably has the least manly description of any game: You play as a flower, dreaming that it is flower petal floating through the air, and you bloom flowers in colorful environments in order to collect more petals, until you're a mile-long trail of flower petals floating on a whimsical breeze. So manly.

Stephen Montgomery gow 2 can be beaten easily as quickly as one could rush through gow 1 Ascension is probably the quickest main console game but feels ten times longer because it's the worst in the series story wise (and by that point series burnout). The portable ones are the overall shortest and can be beaten in 3-4 hours easily.

Most games can be finished in far less than a day. You just have to speedrun it.
@Aries98pt8 жыл бұрын
It depends, some games have plenty of cutscenes in which in total adds a few hours. But if they're skippable then it's fine^^
@NikhilSingh-lw2kx8 жыл бұрын
+Ninjawa I finished Arkham City in around 3 hours, probably the only speedrun I've done.
@bleach07088 жыл бұрын
I finished uncharted 3 with no speedrunning, in 8 hours.

If you haven't played the masterpiece - Journey yet, can you even call yourself a gamer?
@koolin36138 жыл бұрын
Well, honestly it looks a bit boring to me, i love the visuals of everything but what do you do in the game?? Walk and slide around, listening to music, progressing to the next area, and doing the same! I know it is an emotional Journey (hèhè...) and all but i rather play something a little more active Sorry i saved This rant for you mate, cheers!

+RaJhon Ad I haven't and I honestly don't care for these artsy games that try to hard.

Nope. I'm too busy shooting DOOM demons with shotguns in hell, driving Mario karts on rainbows in space and saving the apocalyptic world from Kefka to play a game where I hold the analog stick forward for three hours straight.

Brothers was a game I wish was a lot longer, for the short time It lasted, it was truly a lovely experience. The ending will bring you close to tears. Magical.

Walking Simulators are NOT games, sorry.
@jakedesnake977 жыл бұрын
Well, what are they then? They're not movies since you're still in control. In fact, I feel that, from a purely artistic viewpoint, story-driven so-called "walking-simulators" are the epitome of games: the enjoyment they procure comes entirely from the hand-crafted story, music and visuals.

7:37 reminds me of that Stephen King quote about the three types of terror: "The Gross-out: the sight of a severed head tumbling down a flight of stairs, it's when the lights go out and something green and slimy splatters against your arm. The Horror: the unnatural, spiders the size of bears, the dead waking up and walking around, it's when the lights go out and something with claws grabs you by the arm. And the last and worse one: Terror, when you come home and notice everything you own had been taken away and replaced by an exact substitute. It's when the lights go out and you feel something behind you, you hear it, you feel its breath against your ear, but when you turn around, there's nothing there...”

I don't know how many times I've played through Journey. I got it the day it was released, and I still play it every few months because I love it so much & it's never gotten boring.

What I loved about Journey is that moment when I suddenly realized that other character on the screen that looked like my character was actually another player. I didn't know their name and couldn't talk to them, but somehow we managed to cooperate to move forward. Then they just kind of disappeared, but a while later another one appeared. It was great.

@ 3:50 - If you just want to look at colours and shapes and listen to nice music then Flower would be perfect. It's from the same people who made Journey, can be played within a few hours and is just about making flower petals float over meadows to open up other flowers and give the world more colour.

The Unfinished Swan was awesome! I 100%ed it on all three systems. I did the PS4 version in about a day, the PS3 version in about 3 hours, and the Vita version in 2 hours. Great experience.

I just finished Journey, and if anything you underplayed it. I've never had that much of an emotional reaction to any game before. It is definitely now one of my top 10, if not top five favorite games.
