Sony should make it mandatory for devs to auto pop all online trophies if they close the servers.

Yes by way of a final update to the game that unlocks this. That's the only way to do it since trophies are part of the consoles SDK. Reminds me of that Mercenaries 2: World In Flames game on PS3. The company closes, the servers went offline and no final update was made to accommodate this. Since the first thing the game did was try to connect to EA servers when first starting, in order to play the game today, you have to unplug your Ethernet cable from the PS3 in order to launch the game into Single Player.

I have 4 reasons why online trophies should be optional: -Not everyone has internet connection -Not everyone has PS Plus -Some Online servers go dead -Some servers get shut down

Other than servers getting shut down.... the number 1 reason i believe there should be no online trophies is because it ruins online games for people. Trophy hunters get into online matches with people who actually want to play the game and ruin it. Like if it's team deathmatch for example, and you have two trophy hunters in the room on opposite teams.... they go off to a little hidey corner while one stands there and the other just kills him repeatedly. That's just ONE, of MANY, examples of how trophy hunters, bossing trophies, ruin online games.

i actually collect trophies just because i see them as experience points to your system or profile. the higher the level the more i feel like a badass gamer. i dont have internet connection, even if i did then i cant play online because i dont have ps+. There are ways to "git gud" without having to play online, yea you get better by competing against other players but with training mode or just single player alone can get you to a great enough level to be competitive to others if done right.

the trophy community is vastly smaller than the Xbox achievement community which has tons of boosting sessions for multiplayer trophies but unless it's Playstation exclusive I tend to steer away from multiplayer games unless the multiplayer trophies are super easy like Titanfall2 or are more brand new and still have a ton of players like DOOM

Unless you only play PS4, then yes. But, vita and PS3 are free and there are only a handful of games that still inquire an online pass. The rest are free to play online.

i have 92 platinums. the hardest one I have achieved is Jack of all trades from killzone shadow fall. Took about 200 hours. My worst experience is crisis 3. trophy won't pop for prestiging even though I've prestiged 3 times... so I just stopped playing.

I buy the games I find interesting, typically point-and-click games, exploring games, games with a great story etc. Never multiplayer games! Haha. And if the game I have bought or gotten through ps plus is good, then I will start hunting for trophies. And if there are some impossible trophies or multiplayer trophies, then I still collect all the others. So I have more than 10 games thats 90+ % completed trophywise. And I dont bother with bad DLC's as well (ahem, Far cry 5) I do it for the fun :) even if I know I wont get the platinum for whatever reason.

I certainly take a look to see if there are missables, how many playthroughs, and how much time is required. I like to avoid guides the first time I play something, so if it's something like a 20+ hour game with lots of missables, maybe I'll comeback for cleanup later.

I have the platinum for both Infamous and Red Dead. Reason I have the platinum for Red Dead is because I only played that one game for a year, nothing else. I was so proud of myself when I unlocked it but nobody gave a toss. I now no longer bother with any online trophies or get annoyed by reaching platinum status, I just enjoy the ride

Technically speaking, you're correct if you play the game as individually downloaded episodes, rather than the hard copy or digital bundle that comes with all 4-6 episodes in one save storage with a platinum trophy attached. This essentially helps with trophy boosting, as some titles have separate trophy lists for the hard copy and the digital for this very reason; an example close to yours: "Back to the Future: The Game." :)

Multtiplayer trophies suck, and you might think you justifiably say "Well if you can't do well against real people then you don't deserve the platinum", but you can't because it's all incredibly UNRELIABLE. For instance, with that Red Dead Redemption one, you could be really good but if one person was better or got lucky, you're done, but you could be completely terrible as long as you get put in a game where everyone else is worse. Trophies should always depend on skill and not luck. You could say, "Well play for a while and you might get lucky", but that's only a MIGHT and even if you do spend countless hours trying to achieve some tedious and stupid task, it's still never going to be guaranteed. End multiplayer trophies, hard but fair single player ones are what to be proud of.

I got the plat from RDR and got that trophy pretty early the one Rob talks about. The last trophy I got was the assist trophy and that was because I missunderstood the description I thought I had to be in company with 10 other players in a multiplayer missions and I did that I cleaned the whole map with the maximum of players in a group and some went in from the side, we were over ten in a multiplayer mission and it didn’t work, so I gave up untill I read a comment years later that explained what I should do.

If you spend the game playing single player that happens to have "optional" multiplayer features it shouldn't have required multiplayer trophies since it makes the "optional" no longer optional if you want the platinum >

I actually have the plat on Black Flag, it took me a week to finish the multiplayer. It was actually a great game once you learned how to play it. Also I dont mind multiplayer trophies when its xp based. But when it forces you to play with X amount of players (Red dead redemption). Thats where I draw the line

I only have 62% in Black Flag. It is fun, but now Odyssey has the best part of BF (ship battles) without the trail/eavesdrop quests that I hated about BF. I have the platinum for DOOM and all the multiplayer trophies for Titanfall2...also got the only one for God of War: Ascension but that one is just do the tutorial thank god, Playstation All-Stars was rough but got that platinum as well (would go for the Vita version but online services are being shut down and I don't have a vita lol) I still don't have all the multiplayer trophies for Yu-Gi-Oh Legacy of the Duelist, Ratchet and Clank All 4 One, DOOM3 BFG Edition, and Blacklight: Retribution, I would also say Minecraft PS3/PS4 but most of those can be done with multiple controllers and I have a friend who I can do the rest with as well

I dont mind multiplayer trophies if they aren't like "reach a certain level" or "be the in the top ___ in certain gamemode" Usually those are so highly dependent on you literally being one of the best players in the game and it doesn't make sense to have you work to be in a leaderboard above thousands and thousands of people to get an achievement, or to just spend an obscene amount of time to do something that required no skill. I kind of like the Overwatch trophies. They usually feel like a single player trophy like just getting several kills with a weird handicap you place on yourself. Im sure there are other examples where the game did it right but I typically am very frustrated by multiplayer trophies because I prefer single player games where I get a lot of chances to make an attempt on something instead of having to wait for the perfect moment to just win three ffa in a row (like wtf how are you going to be the best out of however many people were in the ffa lobby so consistently).

You forgot Demon's Souls. Getting the pure cloudstone was next to impossible. It could only be dropped by one character who is super hard to fight and has the freaking smallest drop rate imaginable. I literally killed him 60 times before giving up and looking up anyone who has done it and the guy had to kill him over 300 times before he dropped it. It takes about a minute to get to him from the spawn and then like 2 minutes to kill him so good God that is a lot of time.

I HATE multiplayer trophies that stop me from getting a platinum. I played trough Uncharted 4 on crushing, in 6 hours, with more than 75% accuracy and what is it that stopped me from getting a platinum? "Revive an ally 5 times in mp." Seeing how Jack died for Rob in ME2, he really could have just loaded a previous save , sent Samara as the biotic, then sent Jack back to the ship in the final stage, and it all would have gone off without a hitch (well, aside from the fact that he indicates in other missions that he did the last non-legion loyalty after the Omega 4 unlock mission, so all the non essential ship NPC's died regardless)

So in Dead Space why did Nathan not use the necromorphs own arms as weapons? Saved me a time or 2 on the hardest difficulty.

DEAD SPACE 1 is easy on video list! I can finish game by just one time without saving on Nightmare!
