I'm not an Electrical Engineer, but I was curious. Programmers don't usually deal with this lol Great Video!

Why didn't you install an analog output module along with the digital input, digital output, and analog input modules?
@realpars6 ай бұрын
That's a good question I've pondered as well. There is a free slot for another module. That's a question for Phoenix Contact. Perhaps it's a cost issue to keep the Starterkit price reasonable?
@mittcomer67792 ай бұрын
do you have to have a cover for an empty slot? will the plc still function the same without the cover inserted?
@realpars2 ай бұрын
Hi.......You don't need a cover, but it Protects an unused Smart Element slot

Hi can I use this toolkit also in my smart greenhouse project? There need to control temperature and watering parameters.
@realpars3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. That's a tough question as we don't know enough about your project or your programming skills. The Starterkit can be used in many applications including temperature and watering function controls. But, the Starterkit cannot perform these functions by itself. You will need a temperature transmitter to measure the temperature and send a signal to the Starterkit analog input module. Assuming that your temperature control is simply on or off, the Starterkit digital output module would be able to operate a relay that operates your heating element/device. If your watering system is on or off, the Starterkit can also do exactly as the temperature control above. Of course everything will depend on your programming skills. The PLC program itself is not that complicated, but if you are starting from scratch with no PLC programming experience, it could take you a bit of time to get up to speed. Having said all that, it sounds like a really fun project!
