Is there a way to make a cedh based around the Godzilla from ikoria themed deck card's? Figured I'd ask as it's a project I've personally been working on, and haven't really seen anyone on KZbin base a commander deck on the Godzilla cards.

Hey prof! Just commenting as a reply so you see it. I watched your latest WhatNot stream and heard you mention that you were thinking about doing a Shuffle up and Play video on Sorcery TCG. Firstly, I am ecstatic and giddy from hearing that. Secondly, If you need to borrow any cards or anything I have two full playsets and a draft cube made I would be more than willing to send to you if it would help! I am in no way affiliated with the company, just a fan of yours and of Sorcery who would love to see more people learn about and play my new favorite game.

@@thestormtrooperwhocanaim496 I still think you're missing the point. The issue they have with how Vince explained it was more how what started as a dirty joke got more and more involved and desperate with each sentence, to the point that how he was explaining it was hilarious and was never gonna match up to the actually-quite-boring reality, so shouldn't have even started that wild ride in the first place (because the reality was always gonna be pretty boring). It wasn't about the donuts specificially at all; it'd have been the same if he was comparing it to packing and unpacking a suitcase or anything describing stuff going into and out of it. I.e. basically by the point of the second or third sentence, it was never about the donuts, and they were gonna rip into Vince whatever over-eager analogy he was making, and he couldn't understand that this is what they were really doing, because he was so eager to prove himself right.

Ohh man. I'm a long time yugioh fan (not player anymore) and this is my first time ever seeing a mtg game. Its so refreshing to see an actual game being played, instead of 15 minutes of summoning and preventing the enemy from doing anything. Actual turns going around. Crazy.

The way I see it, 9 and 10 is CEDH (with 9s being somewhat sub optimal CEDH decks and 10s being the best decks in the format). So if someone says they're playing an 8, I'm bringing my strongest casual deck.
@timothyvenske6519
@timothyvenske6519 Ай бұрын
I feel like a 9 could be either a suboptimal cEDH deck OR a deck pushing a non-competitive commander or playstyle to its absolute limit. That’s just my perception though. But the difference is I think that a 9 could absolutely be “optimized,” depending on what it is trying to do. Of course, the more janky or weak your deck concept is, the lower its ceiling will be.
@PiCat210
@PiCat210 Ай бұрын
CEDH and EDH are completely different formats with different build philosophies entirely. CEDH ≠ EDH and it never can the strongest EDH deck would look nothing like a CEDH deck. For instance no ones is using Demonic Consultation/ Thoracle to combo out if they’re plays EDH even if they’re describing their deck as a 10. I really wish players could realize this.
@Ent229
@Ent229 Ай бұрын
@@PiCat210 People definitely do Thoracle combo in EDH. The exact combo depends on power level. The strongest EDH Thoracle combo is Demonic Consultation/Thoracle. So if someone describes their deck as a 10 (aka the strongest EDH decks), and they are playing for a Thoracle combo, expect Vampiric Tutor into Demonic Consulation / Thoracle. You are right that in practice cEDH and EDH play differently. That is because casual EDH is when we don't play the theoretical strongest decks. Since we all agreed to slow down and play suboptimally, the game goes deeper and more things become viable. However if you remove that by talking about a 9-10 power level deck, then you are back in cEDH land. 1-8 (mostly 4-8) is casual commander (which includes high power non cEDH). However 9-10 is cEDH. 2 Different sources on the power level scale: tappedout.net/mtg-decks/the-edh-multiverse-a-model-of-the-edh-landscape/ imgur.com/OcMdyUH
@markosvafeas
@markosvafeas Ай бұрын
@@PiCat210 I see your point but viewing them as different formats entirely proves to be quite problematic in practice. In reality, both edh and cedh have the same banlist/ rules and at the end of the day (even though I wouldn't), people can run thoracle consult in their barely upgraded precon. The biggest difference between them imo is honestly just the mindset of the players. You just have to trust that the person at your LGS that's on tilt after losing 3 games back to back isn't gonna bust out a (otherwise entirely legal but socially questionable) blue farm list and stomp the table.
@UnuUO
@UnuUO Ай бұрын
For me a 9 is a CEDH-tier commander playing unoptimal cards and without CEDH wincons. I have a Kinnan deck that I would classify as a 9 that plays some amount of fast mana (I didnt want to spend an absurd amount of money on Mox Diamond/Mana Crypt) but doesn’t play any infinites outside of Hullbreaker + Mox Amber + Chrome Mox (so no Basalt Monolith/Thrasios/Treasure Vault shenanigans)
