@@IanSchrauth I'm just thinking, wouldn't it be possible with the help of, say, anydesk or skype to essentially DDOS them by sending empty or pre-recorded fake calls? I know the days of phonephreaking is over but if you could generate phone numbers you could call from you could automate it by making a program that automatically calls a given number. And anydesk or Skype could do that without resorting to more questionable methods. It'd make their ROI really poor to the point of possibly not being viable.
@AndrwR Жыл бұрын
I think a great way to get start with this would be to build an app. Looking at the comments there are a lot of people that want to get involved but need the phone numbers. I think if we were to build an app that "trusted users" (To ensure scammers don't mess with the data) can upload phone numbers to as they find them. Then these numbers can function like the police feature on Waze. Show number is active with a green thumbs up then people can thumb down it when the number if it is no longer functioning due to the scammers getting a new number.

Mad respect to Ben: the “Scam Baiter w/Compassion” (just made-up that term). He’s a wholesome, sincere & humble guy, guided by his moral principles. His clever vids are not full of profanity/hostility, but rather show his determination using (fairly) simple schemes to protect the vulnerable among us. It is sobering to hear of the plight/emotional conflict of some of the scammers. Ben, however, offers the “cooperative” scammers with a path of REDEMPTION. Saying that 'scammers' is the first thing that pops into people's mind when talking about India is like saying "Mass sh00ters and serial k!llers are the first thing that comes to mind when talking about America". This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard someone say lol. India has so much good stuff: the food, the art, cinema & music, the hospitality, the history, the culture, the colors, the mountains, the nature, the architecture, the diversity, the festivals, or even the CEOs and other influential people in various sectors around the globe. So much good stuff yet some people watching these videos can't help but generalise an entire country as "scammers"...

@@samosajalebi I understand the point you're trying to make. But far more Americans are affected by the small number of scammers than are affected by mass murderers (and don't believe most of what the media spews out, it's created, not real). Say a mass murderer kills 10 people. But one scammer calls thousands of potential victims,with some just getting an annoying call and proving theirs is a working number to be sold, some stay on the call a while and get confused and worry how their life may have been disrupted besides also confirming theirs is a working number, and others who believe what they're being told and are stolen from. So again, millions of people at a minimum every day get at least one scam call and/or pop-up (including to landlines), and let's not forget the number of scam emails and other social media scams. The criticism scammers bring to India they come by honestly (meaning, for legitimate reasons).

That part at 13:13 is way too idealistic. And yeah it’s coming from an Indian guy but it’s just not practical at all. In a country with extreme poverty like India, you ask most people…would you rather continue to go hungry or live a life of excess and royalty? And all you have to do is scam gullible affluent Americans who already have more money than they know what to do with… the decision is very easy. And that’s exactly why scamming will continue to be a hotbed in India despite that Indian man’s plea to Indian scammers to stop scamming. Poverty and lack of opportunities creates crimes.

I did notice instantly that they are very good at "customer service" (obvious really as they spend their life on the phone talking to a huge variety of people and adapting to each (and everyone). The scammer's you employed also realised that they feel far better within themselves when they are helping people rather than stealing from and abusing them. Do you think you could gradually and step by step, take on more scammers to work in YOUR call centre or is it too much of a task to hire so many all in one go? Anyway, you have proven a great point and maybe other scam baiters will also want to"join in" ?! 🙂 Love from the UK x

Absolutely loved this video!!! I get emails and texts daily saying I've ordered something from Amazon or that I've won a prize and lately I have been getting emails saying someone died and left me millions of dollars I just need to call and give my bank info. Luckily I watch videos like yours and have been educated so a huge THANK YOU 💜

Awareness is great, yet what we really need to do is tell our phone/cell providers it needs to stop. They could actually put an end to it much easier than anything else could.

If you’re ever unsure about something go to the subreddit “Scams” and search the posts or make a post asking. I was doing research on there and that was how I found channels like this. There are so many different types of scams and seeing new ones all the time. I figure knowledge is power so I just continue to learn whatever I can.

As an indian who hates being an indian these type of video make me leave this country right now ! but i have to wait for a few months to compete my studies so that i can move to a developed country , i dont know why indian gov aren't doing anything about this .at first if anyone ask me to tell 3 things about india i would say : curry , culture , spices but now i will say scammers , call centers , poverty 🥲

Wow! This is beyond awesome! I would LOVE to intercept calls to save another victims wallet… way to go Ben!! It’s clear we all want to help… Ps.. how come when ppl get a call about a charge to their Amazon acct they just don’t log in to see their purchases? That’s always baffled me. 😔 I mean, we all know here that these calls are a scam and wouldn’t entertain a call but honestly.. why don’t victims just check their legit account?
