I was a customer service manager at Walmart for a few years. We as well as all cashiers receive actual training about these scams. All cashiers are entitled to refuse transactions if they think it's a scam.

I have watched your channel, and a couple of other anti-scammer channels for at least a year now. I was always hoping I would get one of these calls, so I could string them along and make a game of it. I finally got a call that was clearly an Indian call center a couple months ago. I could hear all the foreign chatter in the background, as he explained to me that he was from the IRS and saw that there was a significant error in my refund amount, and that he was calling me to correct the error and refund the money I deserved. He, of course had a heavily Indian accent, but his name was Mike. I tried, I really tried to quickly think of some persona and story like you guys do, but knowing it was a scammer, and I was at my work, and he actually asked if I was in front of my home computer or my work computer, I couldn't do it. I should have prepared for that kind of call, but only ever got fake bank calls on my cell phone, this was a new one. I tried to talk to him, but kept laughing as I tried to make something up, then I just gave up and hung up on him. Lesson learned. If you want to mess with them, have a cover story, a name, an occupation and all the rest prepared in advance, so you can be believable. I thought with my creativity I could make it up all on the fly, but that is wrong for most people, since you are not expecting the call. You must think like a spy and already have all that stuff thought out in advance and can reply without hesitation. I don't know if I have the time for that, but I'm glad people like you and the other anti-scammers do!!!

My one bit of advice would be to offer the 20 dollars first by saying something like "Hey, would you like 20 dollars?" and *then* you call them out as a scammer and offer them the 20 if they admit it. He's way too nice lol I remember a long time ago, there used to be Chinese internet girlfriend scammers (this was back in 2001) that would pretend to be your girlfriend and would lead you on about meeting up with you to do gf/bf stuff. My brother absolutely trolled her to all hell (this is before anyone called it trolling) and would just relentlessly make jokes about her accented English and would crack jokes about China being a shithole. I get these lottery winnings all the time or some dying person is contacting me to inherit their wealth or I can claim some special benefits for US American citizens. When I tell them I’m in Germany the whole thing is all of a sudden international. You really made fun of this guy - thank you for sharing this, it was hilarious!

Hi. I got scammed by the same sort of scam in 2021. It was supposedly from an agent from the Publishing Clearance House. I'm over it now, but I'm more careful when I get Facebook friends requests. You do great work. Keep up the good work.

I get these all the time. I just tell them I already done it, but now they want to know who the agent is and how much I give them lol. I know I had one yesterday who admittted to me that the agents are fake lol....I just love it

For what it’s worth, I tried Magic Spoon, and while the flavour (yes, I’m in Canada) is pretty tasty and on point, the cereal itself leaves the gnarliest texture/film in your mouth, and takes like ten minutes to even just get everything out of your teeth unless you brush like RIGHT after eating, which even still ruins that experience somehow haha 😂 All in all, wasn’t worth it when you can ultimately just cut down the amount of cereal you eat.

Yeah I haven’t read much good about it. It’s still full of weird ingredients, maybe they aren’t as fake as in some regular cereals, but there are still much better and cheaper choices.

I had this exact same scam happen to me. They showed boxes of cash. And tried to make it seem real. I didn't buy into it. So fake. Keep it up the good work you do Ben.

I love the funny names. A friend of mine from High School was named Russ Debrie. And yes he went by Rusty. I was really young when we became friends so I didn't really understand the humor behind the name until I was older but I remember my parents chuckling over it. I also had a teacher in High School that was named Mr. Swinger and later we learned his first name was Richard.
