I've personally not encountered a Nigerian scammer so far. I did encounter Chinese however. Indian and Chinese scammers are usually more organized, they have like call-centers and shit. So yeah, I have to agree with ​Chris G here. Regardless though, you shouldn't be ashamed of being a nigerian because of that. There's very understandable reasons, why scamming exists and is more prevalent in certain countries. And it has nothing to do with nationality, ethnicity, race, etc.

My father had been sent several letters over the years requesting he join them, but for the life of me I can't figure out why... He showed the letters to me when I intercepted one in the mail and asked him why it had no return address. None of them mentioned giving them money, so idk if it's part of the same scam or what, but it didn't seem to matter where we moved, the letters still found him until he hit 60 and they stopped
