That's what I think about a lot of scams, I'm scambaiting a romance scammer and I can't imagine who would fall for this, especially since they're pretending to be a Navy Admiral- who apparently has way too much time on their hands and makes plenty of grammatical errors. And he doesn't know how to talk like a normal person. I asked him what his favorite color was and he said, "Blue, but sometimes red if I'm feeling adventurous".
@oldbandwagon87977 ай бұрын
As a farmer, I find this absolutely despicable on a personal level. Only 6% of the entire world is used for farming, and a lot of the people who are farmers are older people who are susceptible to scams such as this one. Luckily your tried and true farmers aren't buying from sketchy online dealerships, but thousands of barns close their doors every week due to financial burden and other suchlike reasons. Losing thousands of dollars trying to buy a new piece of equipment that never ends up existing can ruin folks. It breaks my heart.

I live in a fairly rural area. Someone on a big community Facebook group advertised farm fresh eggs, not unusual in itself. But this person turned off commenting and asked for people to contact her through DMs, which were of course signs of a possible scam. I went ahead and messaged her to ask for her address and she asked for my address, saying she would deliver. I replied asking her to meet up at a nearby McDonald's and never heard back. This scam is almost identical to one I'm familiar with that was running about 7 years ago. The difference is instead of farm equipment they were selling puppies. I learned of the scam when a woman drove 4 hours to my rural home to pick up her puppy. The scammers "sold" her a puppy and gave my address for the pickup. The scam normally involved shipping the puppy, but for some reason, they said she could pick the puppy up. Needless to say, she was very disappointed to learn I was not a dog breeder and that she had been scammed. The police got involved, but there was nothing to be done. It always struck me as cruel that the scammers, after stealing her money, let her drive 4 hours to pick up a puppy that didn't exist.

I don't know why, but this was one of the most amusing episodes yet. "madder than a mosquito in a mannequin factory"? I had never heard that before -made me really laugh out loud. In fact, I watched that episode twice. Great job - I LOVE your shows, thank you!

I’m not sure I know a farmer who would start out with some of these huge vehicles: they start smaller and know their vendor. And yet, these people wouldn’t be online if it wasn’t working. Then most of my nearby neighbors aren’t online: they don’t have electricity.

@france6873 Nah both those two have had their share of scammers for some time. Kenyan scammers especially notorious for facebook scams.

That is why I only buy cash on delivery. No item delivered, no money sent. And the delivery guy has to wait and see me, or they don't get paid.

That ending was beautiful. You could almost feel the exasperation in the scammers voice at the mere mention of Mike Rafone.

Max worked on his accent too, it was pretty decent, there is hints in there though, especially when he gets nervous 😂

Someone is trying to scam my small business as we speak. They're sending me a check but they, "accidentally" sent me double the amount. They said to deposit it and send the rest back. The check should be here within a week

Scammers will watch emails between legitimate salesmen and farmers too. I won't say which dealer I work for, but we had a farmer who was working on a deal for a new tractor with our salesman. He wasn't happy with the price he was quoted and took a few days to think over the purchase. During this time, he got an email from a scammer using our salesman's email spelled very similar but different (they added an s to the company name) saying we would knock off 20% if he wired the cash. Unfortunately, he fell for it.
