Just a teeenytinylil request. When you find out the details of these scam bank accounts,plz check the surrounding locations for college campuses as well as gas stations/convenient/liquor stores or "Indian" restaurants which are run by neplese/puxtanis/bangadeshys. I got a call once for missing Jury duty. all I remember was she said her name was barbara. I think she referenced an arrest warrant. I thought it odd tho because I was a parent of a 5 yr old and had already be excused three years earlier so I still had 3 years to go. I made a police report for a paper trail because I didn't know those scams were going around at the time. It was in 2008. As I"m giving the info to the cop I realized it was Colombus Day !! That's what I think about a lot of scams, I'm scambaiting a romance scammer and I can't imagine who would fall for this, especially since they're pretending to be a Navy Admiral- who apparently has way too much time on their hands and makes plenty of grammatical errors. And he doesn't know how to talk like a normal person. I asked him what his favorite color was and he said, "Blue, but sometimes red if I'm feeling adventurous".
@oldbandwagon8797

As a farmer, I find this absolutely despicable on a personal level. Only 6% of the entire world is used for farming, and a lot of the people who are farmers are older people who are susceptible to scams such as this one. Luckily your tried and true farmers aren't buying from sketchy online dealerships, but thousands of barns close their doors every week due to financial burden and other suchlike reasons. Losing thousands of dollars trying to buy a new piece of equipment that never ends up existing can ruin folks. It breaks my heart.

I live in a fairly rural area. Someone on a big community Facebook group advertised farm fresh eggs, not unusual in itself. But this person turned off commenting and asked for people to contact her through DMs, which were of course signs of a possible scam. I went ahead and messaged her to ask for her address and she asked for my address, saying she would deliver. I replied asking her to meet up at a nearby McDonald's and never heard back. You never can tell what angle a potential scam will take.

This scam is almost identical to one I'm familiar with that was running about 7 years ago. The difference is instead of farm equipment they were selling puppies. I learned of the scam when a woman drove 4 hours to my rural home to pick up her puppy. The scammers "sold" her a puppy and gave my address for the pickup. The scam normally involved shipping the puppy, but for some reason, they said she could pick the puppy up. Needless to say, she was very disappointed to learn I was not a dog breeder and that she had been scammed. The police got involved, but there was nothing to be done. It always struck me as cruel that the scammers, after stealing her money, let her drive 4 hours to pick up a puppy that didn't exist.

I wonder if you could effectively "flash mob" these scammers sometime. Just coordinate a bunch of scambaiters to all call the same day or within a couple days trying to buy the same item. Would be fun to watch.

Good detective work sir! I can't imagine buying this equipment online without seeing it in person, but apparently someone does. I must have visited my local JD dealership a half dozen times just to look at a pallet fork and box blade before taking it home. Can't tell you how many times I walked in, phoned, or emailed about the tractor before buying it. Thanks for exposing these shysters.

As someone who works at an ag shop, you can see some red flags right off the bat. Biggest one being price, that John Deere would go for $150,000+ with what I can assume is 2625 hours. Which brings up another red flag because equipment use is not measured in distance but in time.

Im from Bulgaria i once make a application for job on this types of call centers ( i didnt know it was for scamming) They require you to do a detector test and ask some questions to see if you are lying . They pay 900€ in month and about 400€ in bonuses depends in how much you sell ( Scam). Owners of those call centers in Bulgaria are from Israel most of the employers are students who dosent know that are scamming .

I’m not sure I know a farmer who would start out with some of these huge vehicles: they start smaller and know their vendor. And yet, these people wouldn’t be online if it wasn’t working. Then most of my nearby neighbors aren’t online: they don’t have electricity.

Scammers will watch emails between legitimate salesmen and farmers too. I won't say which dealer I work for, but we had a farmer who was working on a deal for a new tractor with our salesman. He wasn't happy with the price he was quoted and took a few days to think over the purchase. During this time, he got an email from a scammer using our salesman's email spelled very similar but different (they added an s to the company name) saying we would knock off 20% if he wired the cash. Unfortunately, he fell for it.
