@@NoNameO7 The bad thing is not that they judge us with our ADHD, the worst thing is that they DON'T EVEN BELIEVE that we have ADHD. I did not even know that I have ADHD, I never heard of it until lately when I talked about my problems with one of my friend and he brought that up. I could not afford to have a proper diagnosis from a doctor but after researching for a while, I noticed my ADHD is actually pretty severe. It always takes me twice or three times as long to finish something either be learning or finishing tasks because I could not stay focus. Even if I try by locking myself into a room, my brain gets super tired all of a sudden, I gets sleepy, even lose conscious and I cannot control it. The funny thing is it could happen right after I woke up in the morning, even if I get enough sleep. It sucks that without being diagnosed by a doctor, when I share it with anyone, they'll just don't believe and think that I'm crazy because as we all know, the symptoms are very similar to other normal people but it just happens much more often for people with ADHD. Since no one believes me it make me feel like shit cause all they see in their eyes is me being a lazy ass who's trying to make excuse.

Honestly relatable and my heart goes out to his experiences (i'm also medically diagnosed as ADHD since i was a child, i've gotten better at managing it but it's not smth that goes away), especially with the thing about the conversations jumping around, it really awkward to talk to people who aren't in my inner circle because i keep thinking they're gonna think "Ah she's that weird otaku girl yeah no" so i end up being quiet when having interactions with strangers unless i'm sure that they're my kind of crowd. I'm sure Mysta has other ADHD-y things he struggles with as well, diff people can experience different things. I don't think that statement would have offended me personally, but Mysta is an individual with his own feelings who's allowed to be offended at things others might not be. I don't know if the person who said it was sincerely being an idiot or if they're just really horrible at wordinh their thoughts and concerns, but it's nice that Mysta brought it up, so that that person and other people will know his boundaries as well and try their best to avoid it in the future

I feel bad for Mysta and everyone who has "conditions" when people are being mean and heartless like that to them. The other day, a comment also asked Mysta about his orientation, like, bruh? Don't you know what privacy is? You shouldn't ask about something that the person himself doesn't bring up, especially if it's about their privacy. There are some things that are simply not okay to ask, to joke about, and even to comment on negatively. If you can't understand their condition, at least have some compassion. And if you can't have compassion, don't say anything. Vtubers are humans too. They have feelings. I am glad that Mysta could stand up for himself and for the other people who have the same issue as he does. Please let this be a lesson for all of us. Let's not be mean to each other. @alcoholdonkey
@alcoholdonkey 2 жыл бұрын
@@mogosbinted7660 I don't agree with it, but there are 2 reasons I've come to understand about why people ask: 1. Because some people want to know where someone stands so they don't offend them with questions/jokes that are off colour. But lack the patience or tact to figure it out. So asking is a shortcut to knowing some of what could be offensive. And 2. They are looking to know if they should stop watching. (This is an actual reason unfortunately. Some people only want orientation defined content, so regardless of if they enjoy the content itself, they base their follow on that.)

Those people who say "I have ADHD" then straight up criticizing Mysta are straight up hypocrites in my book. I know its not easy to talk to someone with ADHD since they have a very short attention span but learn your boundaries please. Living with an illness is a burden itself in their lifestyle, dont add the weight on their shoulders. Be understanding instead and be patient with them because at the end of the day..they didnt ask for it either. For those who have a medical condition (no matter what it is), I hope you guys know that having an illness doesn't make you less of a person! Each of you are great and deserved to be treated equally! I feel that. I got diagnosed at the ripe age of 20, and it kinda explained a lot about some of the ways I thought and behaved when I was younger, and a few months later I had a woman at the crappy "restaurant" I was working at ask me "are you off your meds?" because her shake wasn't finished. Mind you, I'm just the fucking waiter, it isn't even my fault. She later tried to explain it as "I'm sorry I'm a nurse and I had a rough day and you just looked like some of the people I work with", but that only pissed me off further. Now, I was still freshly diagnosed and that, even as a casual comment, felt like I got seen right through, and it really stung. I eventually brought out her shake to go while she's crying about her own behavior in the parking lot (her husband took her out, probably afraid she was going to make a scene), and it's like, I get it, you had a bad day, but god damn as someone who was recently diagnosed with ADHD at the time, it took a lot for me to even bother bringing out her long bemoaned shake. Today's lesson: Don't fucking try to diagnose others unless their asking for advice, and don't use your own limited bias of a disorder as a means to judge others. ADHD is weird, because it has a lot of symptoms and it isn't the same for everyone. The reason it took until 20 to find it for me is because I'm far more inattentive and spaced out, whereas the stereotype is seen as hyperactive. If you don't understand something, you can ask if they are open to it (but reminder that internet strangers are not your healthcare professionals or even interested in taking the time to address those topics), or look it up yourself, but don't make assumptions when you know nothing about the person or the disorder. It's common sense really.

The fact he deals with all that and was still able to make it into Nijisanji and become a successful V-tuber makes me feel a lot better about my own struggles with ADHD. I've worried a lot about not being able to stay motivated or focused enough to even let myself try stuff in the first place and he's out here doing an amazing job following his dreams. I've only started watching v-tubers for a couple months now but I can safely say he's quickly become one of my favorites. Keep your chin up buddy, you're doing great

Let's be honest, he needs the boundary. I'm glad he's setting it up coz sometimes I just see uncomfortable comments that address issues that are limited to their own privacy. V-tubers are humans as well, people shouldn't forget about this. Thank you for clipping this because this is really important, especially as Luxiem has just debuted a week ago.

People are so f up sometimes like, even if they did have ADHD why would they compare their symptoms to his? Mental Disorders don’t manifest the same to everyone and I can’t imagine how someone who was professionally diagnosed would feel when they hear “oh yeah your symptoms are bad” or “he should get that check”.

Thank you for clipping it. Here is the Japanese translation for Japanese who want to know the content.

when i heard that i literally got so mad but im glad that mysta was able to establish his boundaries and really stand up for himself. that comment was really uncalled for and i can't believe that people would actually comment on that? like you might think you're just another person in that chat and he won't see you but he will. and even if mysta doesn't call you out right away you shouldn't be commenting those hurtful words anywhere. "if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything." this applies to all internet interactions so i hope people in chat will be more mindful with what they say from now on and just really use their judgement and common sense to decide if wht they say is appropriate or not.

Honestly vtubers like Mysta give me hope that as someone else who has actual clinically diagnosed ADHD, I can still get into vtubing. I have crippling self-esteem when it comes to trying something new because I have no faith in myself that I’m going to be able to focus enough to see it through past the early stages where I’m not any good and not just give up on the dream before I even start. Like, if Mysta (and others who have obvious ADHD, even if they don’t talk about it publicly) can be successful at this thing, then why can’t I at least try?

Omg this made me teared up, mysta 😭😭😭 honestly I was mad when ppl were saying he's faking it or he's just doing it for content, or more extremely bad comments(I wouldn't want to say it). But I'm like, is it worth it fighting at them? They're just another ignorant person hiding behind the screen. I probably should spend those time watching my vtubers and support them. I'm glad mysta told them off. Felt like he told them off on my behalf(altho it's his for his feelings) and I also felt like he'll make alot of ppl with ADHD who watched this feels like a lift of burden from their heart. What a way to start a new year. Thank you mysta. And btw, ADHD is a term given by health professionals during way back in early centuries, for ppl who have different traits mentally than "normal" ppl. But what is a "normal" ppl? When most if not all ADHD "patients" actually excells 150% than "normal" ppl in certain aspects, like arts, math, literature, even sports(motor coordinate functions). If God wanted and made all humans the same, the world wouldn't have great musicians, engineers, philosopher etc that excells "normal" humans. They too lacks in certain thing but exceed beyond understanding of "normal" human mind in their specialty. So be proud and train whatever extra dose of talent that God gave you, don't be so down on few things that God lessen.i don't have ADHD but I have alot of friends with it. And they're amazing ppl, I learnt alot from them. Happy New year. Thanks for the clip! Probably alot of typos cause I WAS TEARING UP AND RAGE TYPING THIS haha

As someone w diagnosed ADHD and I am working on a autism diagnosis rn people really should shut they’re mouths sometimes like it can really hurt people if u say something about it showing. In middle school for me the other kids always where like “ew ur ADHD is showing it’s so annoying did u forget to take ur meds?.” While they all knew I seriously hated my meds since they made me feel like I had no control over my own body/life anymore but when ever they said it it really ruined my day and was a stab in my heart it still comes to mind sometimes like “omfg am I being annoying again, I shouldn’t have talked to this person” Damn this took a turn, turns out i am just autistic well it still sucks

As someone with adhd, and was diagnosed at age 11-12… I felt this. Had a friend who told me “your adhd is really bad you should go see a do tor about that” when I have a very light case of adhd too. But because i got distracted it was bad enough to go see a doctor. Which. I expressed to them i have been doing for 7-8 years?? Ummm?? Doctors wont make your adhd go away, you just learn to deal with it. You can get better on somethings but there are just things you cant help sometimes. Being distracted or disoriented or hyper is sometimes hard to control :’)

I tend to jump around topics a lot without thinking about it and often have to train myself to stay focused on my current task without my mind drifting to multiple things which tends to lead into me bumping into things or having to warn people to not talk to me while I'm drinking to try to avoid conversation with me as I will choke on my beverage immediately trying to give an answer. People tend to think I'm making it up just because I don't act like I'm on caffeine 24/7 and try to know that it shows in different ways which can get annoying.

As someone who has adhd, it’s great seeing a cc that is diagnosed and open about it - bc it’s quite common and yet there is a lot of negative stigma around it - the conversing with one person thing (may not be for everyone diagnosed w adhd) is something I also struggle with, gives me a lot of anxiety, so it sucks when ppl remind u and make point on something that makes u uncomfortable - idrk if that makes sense- but kudos to Mysta for being an absolute gem - this man is absolutely fine and adorable and an actual person!! Yes he jokes a lot but he also sets boundaries and isn't afraid to speak his mind even if it could potentially get him in trouble, and he very obviously isn't doing any of it for money considering how he doesn't even like receiving donations. I also have ADHD (diagnosed) and while I'm not exactly like him it's still VERY important to not say things like that commenter that made him feel bad.

@lins_z2

Awwww I almost cried… it’s really a struggle man… I feel insecure about it too. Like when you finish conversations and at the end of the day you start to rethink everything, like all the things you didn’t say about the topics you went through cuz you keep changing topics or you just forget what you’re talking about mid sentences cuz you get distracted by random stuff. It is even worse if I’m talking with another friend with ADHD cuz we both keep switching topics in the middle of things and in the end we lost track of what we were actually talking about like “why were we talking about this btw?” xD. I remember when I was diagnosed, it was well over school and after I dropped out of uni. My doctor told me there was no point on treating it since I have way worse things to treat lol. Also I have the high functioning type and hyper focus on things I’m doing sometimes, so if I took medicine, it could be really bad I think :’). So yeah, for people saying that, not everything can be solved by just going to the doctor and taking meds. Sometimes you just gotta live with it and learn to use it to your advantage. And I think Mysta does great with it!

I appreciate this response alot as someone with adhd (diagnosed professionally from a young age and only got more prominent as i aged).I would also like to address that adhd is often more than just having trouble focusing, it brings with it alot of other issues like being prone to depression and insomnia, and one accepted theory around adhd is that it comes from your brain literally failing to prioritize logic over emotion regularly, making many basic things hard to do because motivation doesnt come as natural for more tedious things, while neurotypical people can more easily reason themselves into doing it anyway. There are actually many people with adhd that arent hyperactive, and alot of people with adhd can focus real well as long as its something we enjoy. Alot of these things take alot of effort to overcome, working against your brain isnt easy and i wish some people would acknowledge how tiring it can be to have to fight with yourself to complete basic tasks. It may be a "minor" neurological condition, but it does affect us alot. We often have to work harder mentally only to still be called lazy for not doing enough. I didnt mean to turn this into a pity fest but i guess as i wrote this i got more and more emotionally involved. Also sorry for this being so long, i really wanted to try and educate more on the struggles of adhd and it just ended up like this
