It makes me very happy to see that so many others, like myself, wanted to be sure that the great Scott Boyer (RIP) received proper credit for writing this song. Nice cover.

Good vocals on your cover. Original song was Recorded in 1971 with Duane Allman on slide guitar in Muscle Shoals, Ala., only one month before his death in a motorcycle accident.

All respect to Mr Clapton and his version of this great song, but credit where credit is due this is not his song. This was a song recorded by Cowboy (written by Scott Boyer). Duane Allman played slide on their version and this seems to be closer to what your performing here. All that aside I must say you have done a fantastic job on this, capturing the true essence of the song. Thanks for posting.

Scott Boyer wrote this song. He is best known for the band Cowboy (with his bud Tommy Talton). Duane played it on their album. His version on his "Anthology" album is said to be the best. (His slide work is pretty stellar) Cowboy and the Allman Bros. were joined at the hip, especially in the early days. Boyer played with the Allmans in a band called "The 14th of September ". They were also intertwined with a band called "Delaney, Bonnie and Friends". (Clapton played with them on one summer tour). This is a very nice job, you two. It holds up very well.

Nice job! Actually, this is a song by the group Cowboy, written by Scott Boyer of the same group. Duane Allman played on it and Eric recorded it later - pretty much the same tempo as Cowboy. I think he did it as a tribute to Duane. But, more people might know it by Clapton.

What a beautiful harmonizing voice goose has. Beautifully sung by both of you. This song is a humble and endearing call for rescue from heartbreak. My own opinion would be to ease back on the hammering of notes on the guitar. It’s not a competition between the guitar and vocals. Keep it smooth, clean and tender. Best wishes.

Different perspective in line w/ Duane's : He grew up watching all the original black artists (Muddy Waters, T-bone Walker, Robert Johnson, Elmore James, etc...) get zero credit for songs that cover artists made big fame & money on. Many English groups including Eric Clapton were guilty of this. That's why Duane made a point of crediting, by name, the original artists "before" covering their songs. It's a sign of respect !! Humility !! Humble respect !! If you would stand on the shoulders of giants, only the foolish would weaken the foundations they stand on. If you don't care about truth and accuracy then you deserve to be called out !! Just sayin' P.S. nice cover though :) (good voice, harmony and percussion section)
