Thank you so much po.. after almost 2 weeks of having the same problem.. At first, I tried to leave some of my gcs that are not really important and tried to uninstall and install it but I still got the "no internet connection and try again" message. Maybe it's not enough that's why I tried to delete some of my not-so-important conversations, cleared data and tried to log back in again and TAAADAAAAHH! IT WORKED! Thank you for this! It really helped me! God bless you
